The Little Childhood Sweetheart's Counterattack - Chapter 4

Chapter 04: A Walk Home

Xiang Yang returned to the classroom, where Hou Xingrou was just about to leave with her backpack. Seeing her return with a troubled expression, Hou Xingrou asked, “What did the homeroom teacher want?”

“Nothing. I have something urgent, I'm leaving first.” Xiang Yang shoved her books back into her bag in a hurry, not even bothering with Hou Xingrou, and rushed to go home. Hou Xingrou wanted to call out to her and walk with her, but seeing her run away so quickly, she could only give up.

Xiang Yang couldn't describe her mood at the moment. She just felt a little uncomfortable, but that was only a small part. She mostly blamed herself. It was all her fault for being incompetent. It had nothing to do with the homeroom teacher or anyone else.

Xiang Yang hurried along, not paying any attention to those who passed by. On the other hand, Ban Shengkai, who was jogging towards the playground with his basketball, stopped when he saw Xiang Yang. He muttered to himself, “Isn't this the girl I saw in the corridor last time?”

The reason he remembered her was because Fu Guanxian had fiercely threatened her. He remembered that she had run away in fear.

After Xiang Yang walked away, Ban Shengkai turned his head thoughtfully.

When Xiang Yang reached the school gate, she was thinking about finding a quiet place to be alone when she heard Fu Guanxian's voice, “Come here!”

He didn't say her name, but Xiang Yang still reflexively searched for him.

“What are you looking at? You're so stupid!”

As soon as she heard that, Xiang Yang's heart sank. She understood that he was definitely talking to her, based on his tone.

She turned around and realized he was leaning against the school wall, with green leaves covering most of his body.

“You...”

Fu Guanxian glanced at her, took a step forward, and said directly, “Go!”

“Where?” Xiang Yang asked cautiously.

“Go when I tell you to, don't ask so many questions.”

Xiang Yang silently looked at him, then lowered her head slightly, standing still.

“Hey, Guanxian, didn't we agree to play the class friendly match? How can you just bail on us?” A boy rushed over, looking anxious.

“I have something to do, I'm not playing. You guys go ahead.”

The boy didn't agree, “If you leave, how can we have any chance of winning?”

“Didn't someone brag about being good at basketball? Let him play!”

“He's not as good as you, no matter how good he is!”

“Get lost! I said I'm not going, I'm not going. I'm already annoyed!”

“Or, I'll go negotiate with their class, and we'll play tomorrow.” The boy suggested.

“Whatever.”

“Okay! Just make sure you're free tomorrow afternoon!”

“Alright, can you stop nagging like an old woman? I have things to do!”

“What's so important? And this girl... is she a first-year freshman?”

“You're done talking, go ahead!”

Xiang Yang had been standing quietly the whole time, even when Fu Guanxian's classmate shifted the topic to her, she suppressed her curiosity and didn't turn around to take a look. She always hoped that no one would know about her relationship with Fu Guanxian.

“What are you still standing there for? Go!”

“Oh.”

Only then did Xiang Yang realize that he had already walked a couple of meters away, so she quickly followed, but cleverly maintained a distance of a meter from him.

Fu Guanxian noticed that no matter how fast or slow he walked, Xiang Yang was very good at not closing the distance between them. Thinking about this, he stopped. Xiang Yang was startled and also stopped.

Fu Guanxian turned around and instructed her, “Go buy two ice cream cones.”

“Huh? Oh.” Xiang Yang obediently went.

There were a lot of people at McDonald's, and Xiang Yang waited in line for a long time. Seeing that there were two or three people in front of her, she subconsciously turned her head and saw Fu Guanxian standing on the side of the road, talking to two or three girls.

The girls had bright smiles on their faces, as dazzling as the afternoon sun.

Xiang Yang couldn't help but look a couple of times, and then she realized that she recognized the only one whose face she could clearly see.

After buying the ice cream cones, Xiang Yang stood there for a while, hesitating whether to go over. But in the end, she followed her inner thoughts. She didn't want to go over and greet Ding Wanjun, her classmate.

She remembered Ding Wanjun's name after the first PE class. The girl who confidently told the other classmates about the PE teacher's characteristics was her.

Xiang Yang had heard Hou Xingrou, who had secretly looked at the class's grades, say that Ding Wanjun's grades were good, ranking third in the class, and the main point was that she seemed to know a lot of people because of her cousin who was in the same school, especially knowing the personalities and teaching styles of many teachers.

So during break time, Xiang Yang often heard classmates ask her, “Wanjun, is the history teacher strict? What if I can't remember the content, will there be any consequences?”

“Wanjun, how does the math teacher check homework? I didn't do a few big problems last night, will I get caught?”

Then, she would always hear Ding Wanjun confidently analyze the pros and cons for them.

It had to be said that Ding Wanjun's social skills were excellent. Only a few weeks into school, she had become close friends with almost all the boys and girls in the class.

Xiang Yang watched intently as she tilted her head, smiling, and said something to Fu Guanxian. Fu Guanxian replied with a smile. She watched from across the street.

She didn't know how long it had been, but Fu Guanxian's gaze suddenly turned, directly landing on her.

She was startled and subconsciously shifted her feet, and then she felt a chill on the back of her hand. She looked down and realized that the ice cream cone had started to melt.

Fu Guanxian frowned at her, then said something to Ding Wanjun and the others, and they waved goodbye with smiles.

Xiang Yang stood still, and Fu Guanxian, who rarely moved, walked towards her. He looked down at the ice cream cone in her hand, then said, “How can you let the ice cream melt like this? I don't want it, you eat them all.”

“But...” Xiang Yang paused, then said softly, “I didn't say I wanted to eat ice cream.”

“You bought it but didn't eat it, Xiang Yang, are you wasting food? Or do you have too much money?”

Xiang Yang gritted her teeth, silently retorting, “It's clearly you who wasted it!”

But when Fu Guanxian took two steps forward and realized she wasn't following, he turned around impatiently and urged her, “Go!”

“Oh.” Xiang Yang jogged to catch up with him, silently eating her ice cream cone.

They walked forward in silence.

Xiang Yang kept a distance from him, occasionally raising her head to look at his thin back, then continued to eat her ice cream cone without tasting it.

Why did he want to go home with her tonight?

After finishing her ice cream cone, she saw him still walking forward, so she hesitated for a moment, then chased after him and asked, “Are we going to walk home like this?”

Their homes were both quite far from school. So they were picked up by private cars every day. However, Fu Guanxian's luxury car would stop directly at the school gate.

Xiang Yang would ask her driver to stop at the previous intersection, and she would walk the remaining few hundred meters. If he continued walking, he would miss that intersection.

Fu Guanxian turned his head and looked at her, asking, “Finished your ice cream?”

Xiang Yang was surprised, but still nodded.

Fu Guanxian put his hands in his pockets, slightly tilting his head, and replied, “Who said we were going home? You're going home with me, am I stupid? You might not be able to keep up halfway, and I'll have to drag you home.”

Xiang Yang felt a little embarrassed when he directly exposed the truth.

He knew her. Originally, she was only a few months younger than him, but now she was a year behind him in school.

When Fu Guanxian was in the first grade, Xiang Yang's mother, Jiang Manxin, had intentionally asked her to start school with Fu Guanxian so they could look after each other. But unexpectedly, a few days after this topic was brought up, Xiang Yang got sick, and she was sick for over a month. After she recovered, her white and tender skin looked bloodless.

Xiang Yang's father, Xiang Yi, felt heartbroken, and Jiang Manxin was also reluctant, so they decided to let her rest for a while and start school the next year.

So Xiang Yang breathed a sigh of relief, but Fu Guanxian, seeing her later, deliberately teased her about her weak constitution several times. Even after all these years, her condition hadn't improved at all.

In the fifth grade, she was called by the new homeroom teacher to participate in the 800-meter run. After finishing, she fainted on the spot.

This incident caused quite a stir. The school cancelled the sports festival for a semester.

Fu Guanxian thought about this and turned his head to look at her again. Her eyes were dark and bright, her hair looked soft and smooth, but her skin was white all over, making her look striking.

When Xiang Yang noticed his strange gaze, she couldn't help but look at him.

Fu Guanxian immediately averted his gaze and urged, “Where did your driver stop? Why haven't I seen him after walking so far?”

Xiang Yang pondered and asked, “Are you going to take our family car together?”

Fu Guanxian immediately sneered, “Can't I? If I didn't intend to go with you, would I waste so much time with you after school?”

Xiang Yang: "..."

Seeing her lower her head, with no smile on her face, Fu Guanxian felt annoyed. “Go, go, go! What are you dawdling for?”

Xiang Yang had no choice but to quicken her pace.

When they got into the car and sat in the backseat together, Xiang Yang felt uncomfortable all over and didn't dare to relax at all.

Fu Guanxian scanned her, then closed his eyes and went to sleep.

Humph, really frustrating!

Transmigrated to a Prehistoric Tribe to Farm and Build Infrastructure - Chapter 01

Chapter 01: Male, Will You Marry Me?   This wasn't a dilapidated shack?!   Changxia stared at the 50-60 square-foot earth-pit tent. Old animal hides were draped over branches, bound together with vines – simple and rustic. Changxia’s lips twitched uncontrollably; she could only feel speechless. The tribesmen who had brought her here had already left.   She put down her backpack, placing her belongings to the side, not hurrying to begin work.   There was no mistake; this would be her home for the rest of her life.   After silently appreciating it for a moment, Changxia turned to look at Chen Rong behind her. His face was pale, his gait weak and unsteady. One glance revealed his poor health.   “You stay outside, I’ll go in and clean up alone,” Changxia said.   “It’s fine, let me come in with you. This animal den hasn’t been lived in for a long time. Besides insects and ants, we need to check if the roof is rotting,” Chen Rong smiled slightly, e...

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 13

Chapter 13: You Have a New Order Of course, Chen Fan wouldn't argue with Keeper Huang. He thanked him profusely. He had brought a big bag of sweet potatoes, free of charge, how could he not express his gratitude? After seeing Keeper Huang off, he really didn't dare close the door again, so he just left the door slightly ajar, at least that would provide some cover. He went back into the room. He didn't even touch the tea he poured for Captain Yang. He picked it up and felt it. The temperature was just right, so he took a big gulp. It tasted pretty good, what kind of tea is this? He stood up and lifted the lid of the teapot. He saw two large leaves floating inside, about the size of a baby's palm. It turned out to be “ one-horse tea ”. “One-horse tea” refers to a type of tea where a single leaf can be used to make a pot of tea. Some places also call it “ three-horse tea ”. These leaves are not actually tea leaves, but they are harvested from fresh “ HuBei Hawthorn ” lea...
