The Little Childhood Sweetheart's Counterattack - Chapter 5

Chapter 05: Homework Help

Every moment spent with Fu Guanxian was excruciating for Xiang Yang.

Finally, the driver dropped Fu Guanxian off at the entrance of the Fu family's house.

The car stopped, and as Fu Guanxian got out with his schoolbag, Xiang Yang couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief.

Fu Guanxian, who was about to walk away, stopped abruptly. He turned back and opened the car door again.

Xiang Yang suddenly took a deep breath, her eyes alert as she looked at him, her face pale.

Fu Guanxian leaned down and said, “Come to my house after you finish your homework tonight.”

“Come...you...you got punished by the teacher again?” Xiang Yang nervously clutched the strap of her schoolbag. She had a lot of homework tonight. She had planned to finish the homework assigned by the teacher, practice piano, read an extracurricular book, and then do some math problems later.

As usual, Fu Guanxian didn't want her to have a peaceful evening.

Fu Guanxian looked at her meaningfully and asked, “Are you hoping I get punished by the teacher?”

“No...” Xiang Yang mumbled, “I'm not that stupid...”

“You are stupid!” Fu Guanxian didn't spare her any face, then said, “Come if I tell you to! If you dare not come, I'll go to your class tomorrow to find you!”

Xiang Yang looked at him, then down at the strap of her schoolbag, which she was tightly gripping. She didn't dare say she didn't want to go.

Fu Guanxian gave her one last look, then slammed the car door shut and went inside.

As Fu Guanxian reached the garden, he was stopped by Kong Yiyue, who was messing around with the flowers.

He walked over and obediently called out, “Mom!”

Kong Yiyue turned her head, a smile on her face as she looked at him, “The driver said you specifically asked him to go back after school today?”

“Yeah.” Seeing his mother's “I've seen through you” look, Fu Guanxian turned his head and looked around, avoiding her gaze.

Kong Yiyue smiled and asked him, “Who did you come back with? Little Yang?”

“She said she didn't understand the problems and wanted to ask me. To avoid wasting time, I reluctantly came back with her.”

Kong Yiyue glanced at him. Seeing his awkwardness, she immediately said, “Little Yang rarely asks you for help with her homework. It's probably because she's just started junior high and isn't used to it yet. If she has any questions, remember to explain them to her properly. Don't get angry.”

“Mom, I know. You can go back to looking at your flowers. I'm going back to my room to do my homework.”

“Okay, if you get hungry, remember to eat some snacks.”

“Got it!”

Back in his room, Fu Guanxian threw his schoolbag down and lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling, thinking: Humph, he wished she would ask him for help with her homework, but she hates being near him. How could that be possible?

On the way back, Xiang Yang was racking her brains trying to figure out why he asked her to go to his place when the driver suddenly said, “Little Yang, you and the young master of the Fu family have such a good relationship. If I had a companion like that when I was studying, I would have loved to study...”

“Uncle...me and him...” Xiang Yang wanted to explain, but halfway through, she thought better of it.

The relationship between the Xiang family and the Fu family could be traced back generations. It was too far back for Xiang Yang to understand, and Fu Guanxian was too lazy to figure it out.

They only knew that their fathers had grown up together, practically wearing the same pants, and their mothers were close roommates in college, later developing into inseparable best friends. As a result, Fu Guanxian and Xiang Yang had known each other since they were little, the so-called childhood sweethearts.

However, as they grew up, Xiang Yang discovered that Fu Guanxian was not a good person. When they were younger, he not only snatched the food she liked but also often played pranks on her. Xiang Yang couldn't help but tremble whenever she saw him.

She vividly remembered one time when he used a life-size black spider toy to scare her.

She was five or six years old at the time and terrified. As soon as she saw the thing, she screamed in terror, but Fu Guanxian just laughed. The more scared she was, the more he wanted to scare her.

She had nowhere to hide, so she climbed onto a chair and cried.

Fu Guanxian didn't let up. He waved the spider around, threateningly, getting closer and closer to her. The closer he got, the louder she cried and screamed, her whole body trembling. He stood on the ground, watching her scared to death, laughing hysterically.

Later, the maid who helped out at the Fu house heard the noise and rushed over from the kitchen. Fu Guanxian had already cleverly thrown the spider toy a meter away, and proudly said, “A cockroach just flew over, and she cried. Auntie, I already chased the cockroach away!”

The maid praised him for being so brave. After she carried Xiang Yang down and comforted her for a long time, she still cried and insisted on going home.

For a long time after that, Xiang Yang was afraid to go to the Fu house. When her parents went there, they said they would take her with them, but she would always shake her head, her face pale with fear.

Fu Guanxian had many bad deeds, but what was truly hateful was that he could always make it seem like he was just being a good brother to his sister. He was a master of deception, and many people believed him, just like the driver.

Xiang Yang clenched her hands, looked out the window, and wished the night would come slowly.

So, when doing her homework, she deliberately slowed down. After dinner, she continued to study for another hour.

Jiang Manxin brought her a glass of milk into her room and saw her still studying with her books spread out. She asked, “A lot of homework today?”

Xiang Yang nodded quickly, “A lot, Mom. I probably need to study for a while longer.”

“Then hurry up and study. Don't stay up too late.”

“Okay!”

Xiang Yang looked at the clock on the table. It was 7:30. In another hour, she would practice piano. If she dragged it out until after 9, she could just say it was too late and not go.

However, less than ten minutes after Jiang Manxin left the room, she came back and said, “Guanxian called and asked when you were coming over to see him. Did you guys make plans?”

“Ah...” Xiang Yang didn't expect him to call, and she never lied, so she could only nod.

Jiang Manxin asked, “So are you going over?”

Xiang Yang immediately replied in a cheerful tone, “Mom, I'm not going! It's too late. I still need to practice piano!”

“Oh, okay. He said if you don't go tonight, he'll go to school to find you tomorrow.”

As soon as she finished speaking, Xiang Yang stood up and started packing her books, “Mom, I've finished reviewing. I'm going now.”

“Huh? So fast?”

“Yeah. I'll be back soon.”

“Then let your dad take you. He has something to talk to your Uncle Fu about.”

“Okay.”

After getting in the car, Xiang Yang thought about it for a while and said to Xiang Yi in a roundabout way, “Dad, I still want to go home and practice piano later. If it gets too late and I haven't left, can you call me upstairs, okay?”

“Didn't Guanxian say he's going to help you with your homework? Dad doesn't have anything to do tonight. You guys can study slowly.”

“But...” Xiang Yang was restless.

Xiang Yi looked at her and said with a smile, “Okay, don't worry. Dad will tell you if it gets late.”

“Okay!” Xiang Yang was full of anticipation.

When she saw Fu Guanxian, he was unusually sitting at his desk doing homework, so she didn't call him. But Fu Guanxian wasn't happy. “Are you going to die if you call me? You just appear out of nowhere. You're going to scare me to death?”

Xiang Yang looked up at him and didn't dare to answer.

Fu Guanxian stretched out his long legs and spun his chair around. He looked at Xiang Yang and commented, “Why is this color so ugly?”

Xiang Yang looked down, not knowing how to respond. Her mother had told her that her skin was fair, and this color would look good on her.

Not wanting him to criticize her anymore, she went straight to the point, “What do you want me to write today?”

Fu Guanxian pointed to the spot next to him and slightly raised his chin, indicating, “Write a diary entry to make up the numbers.”

Xiang Yang looked at him in disbelief, “A diary is supposed to be about your own life. How you spent your day. How would I know? How can I write it?”

“Didn't I come home with you after school today? Just make something up, a few hundred words. As long as it can be turned in.”

“Why don't you write it yourself?” Xiang Yang asked boldly.

“Haha, for something so small, if I were to write it, it would waste my brain cells!”

Xiang Yang was speechless.

Fu Guanxian urged her, “Hurry up! Don't write until midnight again! Oh, right! Xiang Xiaoyang, if I didn't urge you, would you even come?”

“No...I'm going to write a diary now.”

Fu Guanxian saw her nervously sit down and pick up her pen to brainstorm. He raised his eyebrows, thought for a moment, and didn't bully her anymore.

Since Xiang Yang started writing a diary in fourth grade, she had a habit of writing only truthful things in her diary. So, when Fu Guanxian asked her to make something up, she really had no idea what to write. After thinking for a while, she finally got an idea.

She lowered her head and wrote a few hundred words without hesitation. She was about to write the ending when she heard Fu Guanxian's phone ring. She subconsciously looked up at him.

Fu Guanxian was facing away from her, talking happily on the phone.

“Hey, what are you calling me for in the middle of the night! Okay, I'll go to the basketball game after school tomorrow afternoon! Haha, who wants to play with that kind of person? Tell you, if he's on the court, I'm not. If I'm on the court, he's not! He wants to be class monitor, let him be. I don't care! Those thankless jobs, only fools would do them. Oh, being class monitor is so great? I really don't think it's necessary! You're so stupid, just focus on your studies! Go away! I'm not talking anymore!”

After hanging up the phone, Lian Rui, who was inexplicably told a bunch of nonsense, was stunned, “Fu Guanxian, is he crazy? Why was he talking to himself at the end?”

When Xiang Yang heard the word “class monitor,” she instinctively pricked up her ears. Before she realized he had finished the call, she heard him ask her, “Turtle, have you reached the finish line yet?”

“Almost.” Xiang Yang quickly regained her composure and lowered her head to write the ending.

“Hurry up and go. Don't bother me while I study.”

“Ah?” Xiang Yang was surprised. Was that it?

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 01

Chapter 01: Time Travel Needs Ritual They say that if you set the air conditioner to 16 degrees Celsius, light a candle, put an alarm clock in front of the candle, then sleep under a warm air conditioner blanket, and chant "Heaven and Earth are boundless, the cosmos is turned upside down," you can time travel?   Chen Fan came out of the bathroom after a drunken shower, remembering what his colleague, who was known for his mysterious ways and constantly mentioning the I Ching and esoteric arts (and nicknamed "Daoist"), had said during a drinking session.   Thinking about how he had been in an orphanage since he was 10 years old, and how he had only managed to get through college thanks to part-time jobs and his parents' inheritance, and how he had been working for years but still just a struggling wage earner renting a place in a suburban village, without any family support, it seemed like time traveling wouldn't be too bad. It wouldn't be worse than his...

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 13

Chapter 13: You Have a New Order Of course, Chen Fan wouldn't argue with Keeper Huang. He thanked him profusely. He had brought a big bag of sweet potatoes, free of charge, how could he not express his gratitude? After seeing Keeper Huang off, he really didn't dare close the door again, so he just left the door slightly ajar, at least that would provide some cover. He went back into the room. He didn't even touch the tea he poured for Captain Yang. He picked it up and felt it. The temperature was just right, so he took a big gulp. It tasted pretty good, what kind of tea is this? He stood up and lifted the lid of the teapot. He saw two large leaves floating inside, about the size of a baby's palm. It turned out to be “ one-horse tea ”. “One-horse tea” refers to a type of tea where a single leaf can be used to make a pot of tea. Some places also call it “ three-horse tea ”. These leaves are not actually tea leaves, but they are harvested from fresh “ HuBei Hawthorn ” lea...

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 15

Chapter 15: Acquiring a New Skill   Back in his room, Chen Fan continued reading, but after a while, he couldn't focus. His mind was filled with what Jiang Lili had just said.   The chickens were eaten, and they don't raise pigs.   Everyone else went home for the New Year, and they didn't leave anything good for that girl?   That's too much!   After a while, Chen Fan couldn't sit still, so he put down the book, got up and walked out.   He went to Jiang Lili's door and greeted her, "Hey, Xiao Jiang."   Jiang Lili immediately came over, "What is it?"   She paused, a strange look flashed in her eyes. She whispered, "Chen... Chen Fan, I want to ask you something."   Chen Fan was about to speak, but when he heard her say this, he smiled, "Ask away."   Jiang Lili curiously looked at him, "How old are you this year?"   Chen Fan blinked, guessing what she meant, and said, "Eighteen."   Sixteen, almost sevente...
