Chapter 31: Beautiful and Graceful
Li Yuwei was the first to go out, her eyes scanning the three people, a look of disdain flashing in her eyes, but she was polite on the surface. “Mom, who are these people?”
“Yuwei, you're off work already. This is an aunt from my grandma's village, you have to call her Great-Aunt Zeng, this is your Uncle Hu, and this is your Aunt Hu.”
Li Yuwei greeted them with a smile, inviting them into the house. “Great-Aunt Zeng, Uncle Hu, Aunt Hu, come in and have a seat.”
“Oh, good to see you, niece.”
The man's name was Hu Niu, and he stared at Li Yuwei without blinking.
Aunt Zeng kept praising Li Yuwei for being beautiful and sensible, saying that Song Hanmei had raised a good daughter.
Ying Sisi, who was still limping, had just come out of her room when the three people had already entered the house.
Song Hanmei went up to her and pulled her over, introducing her warmly. “This is my eldest daughter, Sisi. Say hello.”
Ying Sisi hesitated for a moment. “Hello.”
Song Hanmei continued to smile. “This girl of mine has a quiet personality, she's not as lively as the second one, but she's very hardworking. She takes care of everything inside and outside the house. The steamed buns and dumplings we eat for the New Year are all made by her.”
“She's really pretty, even prettier than your second daughter.” Aunt Zeng looked her over. “How old is she? Is she engaged?”
Li Yuwei's eyes widen. “What? Ying Sisi is prettier than me? She has no taste!” She mutters to herself: “She's just a little whiter. She's so rustic, what's beautiful about her?”
Song Hanmei answers, “She's engaged. We're planning a wedding for the New Year. Your daughter is getting up there in age, has she found anyone yet?”
“She's sixteen, not engaged. Her brother isn't married yet, how could she be? Do you have any good girls in your neighborhood? Keep an eye out for us. I don't have high requirements, just someone who looks similar to your eldest daughter.” Aunt Zeng said, her eyes fixed on Ying Sisi. She has an oval face, red lips, and eyebrows that look like they were drawn with soot.
Her skin is like a peeled egg, white and tender.
She's tall too.
She's truly beautiful and graceful.
Her hands are rough, but that means she's hardworking and capable.
Her clothes are thick, so you can't see her waist, but her butt looks big.
She should be able to give birth to sons.
Instead of waiting for someone to notice her, I might as well just take her.
Tonight is a good opportunity.
Once they settle in, I'll arrange for Daniu to go into this girl's room.
Whether she's engaged or not, as long as they haven't had the wedding, she has to marry my son.

“You're welcome.” Song Hanmei's eyes flickered. “Sisi, your father is working late today and won't be back for dinner. Go to the kitchen and warm up some steamed buns and dumplings, and prepare two dishes. Yuwei, you help her too.”
Ying Sisi sighed inwardly.
Li Junlu's words were useless.
How could there be such a father without any authority in the world?
Forget it.
She didn't respond, and went straight to the kitchen.
Li Yuwei hated the smell of oil smoke the most, but in order to maintain her image of being virtuous and proper in front of others, she had to respond. “Okay.”
While Ying Sisi was working, Li Yuwei stood next to her and watched. “That Aunt Hu is younger than us, but she looks older than us. I guess a hard life in the countryside makes people age faster."
Ying Sisi remained silent, focusing on her work.
Li Yuwei got no response and found it boring. She found a stool to sit on and took out the sunflower seeds from her pocket to crack.
Ying Sisi finished cooking, and Li Yuwei had finished her sunflower seeds. She picked up a plate of warm steamed buns and went into the house. “Great-Aunt Zeng, dinner is ready.”
“Oh, you two sisters are so hardworking.”
