Rebirth: To Make You Mine - Chapter 02

Chapter 02: Fu Jinting Says He Dislikes Kong Yiyue

“Fu Jinting, what multiple-choice question, what does that mean?” Zhong Ziyang finished speaking, his eyes shining as he stared intently at Fu Jinting.

He had originally thought that Kong Yiyue simply had a one-sided crush on Fu Jinting, but now it seemed like it wasn't that simple.

Because he had noticed Fu Jinting's expression—the casual curve of his lips had been contained, his brow furrowed slightly, instantly revealing the sharpness and rejection in his face.

Well... It seemed like he had never seen Fu Jinting's expression this displeased before, even when he'd joked about a certain beauty being interested in him or asked him to relay a message for her.

Zhong Ziyang, very perceptive, chose to keep his mouth shut and not ask any further. He innocently turned to look at Xiang Yi and shrugged—I really didn't say anything he disliked, did I?

I was just kindly relaying Kong Yiyue's words - word for word.

The most annoying thing for Fu Jinting these days was the dilemma of whether or not to study abroad. His elders' stance was firm—he had to go abroad to study, but he wasn't very happy with this decision.

He always believed that learning and ability lay within oneself, and that the environment wasn't crucial. So, since the start of the semester, he avoided discussing this topic with his elders at home.

Unfortunately, yesterday, right after he returned home, his mother brought up the subject again. Knowing he wasn't willing to delve deeper into this topic, she was very clever and understanding, simply saying, “Your grandfather asked your father to contact the leadership at the American school.” And then the matter was dropped.

Fu Jinting didn't react at all. He simply closed the newspaper he was holding, casually threw it on the table, got up, and walked towards his bedroom upstairs.

Studying abroad... The thought of it made Fu Jinting's expression darken even more.

Kong Yiyue saying that the multiple-choice question wasn't that difficult was just empty words.  He didn't know her at all, how could she coincidentally know about his private affairs?

Fu Jinting put his thoughts aside and walked straight ahead. Zhong Ziyang followed cautiously beside him. Xiang Yi didn't want to break the silence either. It was Zhong Ziyang, that guy, who had said the wrong thing, not me, why should I help him salvage the situation? Hmph!

After the three of them walked in silence for a while, Fu Jinting suddenly said, “I hate people who think they're better than everyone else.”

“???” Zhong Ziyang couldn't grasp the meaning of this statement for a moment.

Xiang Yi understood immediately. Fu Jinting was saying that he disliked Kong Yiyue who thought she was better than everyone else?

Without understanding the reason, he still asked with confusion, “Fu Jinting, you...know Kong Yiyue?”

“I don't know her,” Fu Jinting replied coldly, “and I don't need to know her.”

Xiang Yi and Zhong Ziyang looked at each other, and they both reached the same conclusion:  This Kong Yiyue seems to really displease Fu Jinting?

The rumor about Kong Yiyue liking Fu Jinting continued to spread.

It was normal for girls to like Fu Jinting, but the reason why this rumor persisted was twofold.

First:  Kong Yiyue got first place in math during Fu Jinting's absence from school.

Second:  She was the only one who dared to confidently declare that she would marry Fu Jinting.

Although the Fu family kept a low profile in Qinglin City, anyone who knew a little bit about them would instinctively sigh, “The richest person in Qinglin City!”

And looking at Fu Jinting, the eldest grandson of the Fu family, just imagine what it would mean to marry him. It goes without saying!

Haha, countless girls would want to join the Fu family, but the key was still the attitude of the person involved, right?

Look, news had already come out after Fu Jinting finished his lunchtime break. He disliked Kong Yiyue.

Upon hearing this, everyone just laughed with amusement: This Kong Yiyue, really… arrogant.

After the final bell rang, Kong Yiyue put away her physics textbook and took out a chemistry workbook from her drawer.

Her deskmate, Yuan Meng, had just tidied up her physics books. Seeing that Kong Yiyue had already taken out her workbook for another subject, she asked, Yuan Meng, who shared a dorm with Kong Yiyue, asked,  “Aren't you going back to the dorm to shower?”

Besides the two of them, there were two other girls from their class in the dorm.

The temperature had been gradually dropping recently, and the students who showered after school at four o'clock were all in a hurry, so the water flow in the dormitory building often dripped like rain.

Kong Yiyue didn't like the feeling of rushing and waiting anxiously, so she always deliberately avoided the peak hours, waiting to enjoy her leisurely time after evening self-study, taking her time, which was very relaxing.

“Yeah, I'll shower at night.”

As Kong Yiyue said this, Yuan Meng carefully observed her expression.  Although there wasn't any obvious difference, Yuan Meng felt it was psychological, as if she heard a hint of dejection in her tone.

“Yiyue, are you still bothered by that news?”  she asked tentatively.

“Which one?”  Kong Yiyue stopped turning the pages of her workbook, raised her head, and asked curiously, “What news?”

Yuan Meng thought:  It shouldn't be!  The girls from Class One deliberately discussed it so loudly in the corridor at the back door of the classroom this afternoon, many students in the class heard it, and they were talking about it openly and secretly all afternoon.  She had heard it clearly from her seat, and Kong Yiyue, who sat beside her, must have heard it too.

Not sure, she directly stated, “Those things...those things the girls in Fu Jinting's class said...you heard it, right?”

Kong Yiyue nodded.

Yuan Meng looked around, seeing that no one was paying attention to them, she leaned down and whispered,  “You really like Fu Jinting?”

Kong Yiyue's fair, delicate face flashed a hint of surprise, but then she nodded, “I want to pursue him.”

After being reborn, Kong Yiyue had set a grand and unique goal for her life: to possess Fu Jinting.

The reason was:  He had money, power, and looks.

As for herself, she would have no money, power, and her life would be busy and chaotic, especially miserable.

In this life, Kong Yiyue still didn't have any particularly lofty life aspirations. She only wanted to turn Fu Jinting into her legal husband, so that she could then retire to a peaceful life, living the kind of carefree life she had dreamed of in her previous life—reading, sunbathing, and sleeping.

She knew that if she worked hard in this life, she could achieve that ideal life in her later years, but it would be too tiring. Since there was a shortcut, why not take it?

Yuan Meng didn't expect Kong Yiyue to admit so frankly and without hesitation.  She couldn't help but exclaim, “Yiyue, are you really sure?”

Kong Yiyue stretched her lips into a faint, light smile. “Yeah, I've always been sure.”

Yuan Meng froze in place, wanting to say something but finding her mind blank.

While the school strictly prohibited early love, there were still many couples who secretly dated.  Even if the teachers knew, they turned a blind eye, but Kong Yiyue was making this so high-profile. Yuan Meng was worried that if Fu Jinting really rejected her, wouldn't Kong Yiyue be very embarrassed?

And the students in Class One said that Fu Jinting had personally admitted that he disliked Kong Yiyue.  They had heard this by chance when they overheard Fu Jinting, Zhong Ziyang, and Xiang Yi talking during lunch break.

Everyone believed this news without question.

It was true, Kong Yiyue didn't really have any capital to make Fu Jinting like her.

Therefore, the response of Fu Jinting, the person involved, spread like wildfire, and everyone was excited and eager to see Kong Yiyue's downfall.

Unfortunately, Kong Yiyue wasn't as sad as everyone expected. On the contrary, she felt it was...an unexpected surprise.

I guessed right, didn't I?

After graduating from high school, Fu Jinting would go to study abroad, and in his third year, he was forced to return to China because of his grandparents' poor health. He finished his last two years as an exchange student at An University in Li'an City.

During his high school years, the only thing that seemed to make Fu Jinting hesitate was studying abroad.

In her previous life, during her sophomore year, she had been walking past their classroom on her way to the teacher's office after school. It was nearly six o'clock, and there were few people around, but in the spacious classroom, only he was there.  He was facing away from the corridor, standing in the aisle by his seat. His back was bathed in the setting sun, creating a silhouette like a beautiful sunset painting.

Kong Yiyue, captivated by the moment, couldn't help but stop. That kind of silhouette, it seemed, didn't require much thought to know it was him.

Why? She could only say it was pure intuition.

Fu Jinting was good at academics, had a good family background, good looks, and his personality was rumored to be gentle and polite, only this politeness had an irresistible air of indifference.

Kong Yiyue knew deep down that her background, status, and appearance were not appealing to him. So in her previous life, she had only occasionally encountered him and silently sighed, fantasized a little, whenever she saw him.

In the quiet and beautiful twilight, Kong Yiyue gazed at him from afar through the clear glass window, vaguely hearing him say, “Fu Qingrui, you must be itching for me to go abroad to study. What if I say no, what can you do?”

The person on the other end of the phone was Fu Jinting's younger brother. Kong Yiyue couldn't hear what he said.

She only heard Fu Jinting remain silent for a while, then say, “Old man really loves to meddle!” The coldness and dislike in his voice were clearly audible.

After that, Fu Jinting didn't say anything else. He hung up the phone, picked up his bag, and turned to leave.

Kong Yiyue instinctively pretended to be nonchalant and quickly continued walking forward, knowing in her heart that if he knew she had eavesdropped on his phone call, he would probably...give her a cold shoulder.

Now, in this life, after thinking carefully about it, she had come to the conclusion that Fu Jinting probably didn't want to go abroad, but his elders were insistent.

That day, the reason she had talked to Zhong Ziyang like that was to create an opportunity, as if getting Fu Jinting upset would make her feel better.

Thinking about this, Kong Yiyue couldn't help but smile and say to Yuan Meng, “Don't worry, I know what I'm doing.”

Yuan Meng looked at her with suspicion.  Though she didn't support her approach, she could only swallow her words.  This matter, whether it succeeded or failed, seemed to be beyond her control. Giving Kong Yiyue a look that said, “Godspeed,” she quickly went back to the dorm.

Transmigrated to a Prehistoric Tribe to Farm and Build Infrastructure - Chapter 02

Chapter 02: Fish Ball and Wild Vegetable Soup   Chen Rong had just returned to the East Continent, his mind still unsettled. Unexpectedly, he was stopped by a female.   He looked down at the female who only reached his chest.   Thin, with a yellowish complexion.   Her small face was dominated by a pair of vibrant eyes.   “My name is Changxia, from the He Luo tribe of the beastmen. Male, what's your name? Are you married? Do you want to marry me? Room and board included.”   “…” Chen Rong was silent. Had he been away from the Dusk Forest for too long? Were the females nowadays so bold and passionate? For a moment, Chen Rong couldn't react; he was stunned.   Seeing the male standing there, lost in thought,   Changxia waved her hand and said loudly, “Don't you want to?”   “Are you of age?” Chen Rong hesitated, couldn't help but laugh, and asked, “Are all beastmen females as direct as you? I remember birdmen are the ones who are this straightforw...

The Little Childhood Sweetheart's Counterattack - Chapter 10

Chapter 10: Homework and Retribution “Didn't you say that either I could take your car back, or I could come to your house tonight to help you with your homework? I chose the second option.” After saying this in one breath, Xiang Yang didn’t dare to take a single breath. She felt a kind of bravery akin to being placed in a desperate situation and choosing to fight back. Otherwise, what gave her the courage to dare to retort to Fu Guanxian like this? However, even though she was extremely scared inside, Xiang Yang kept reassuring herself: “Don't be afraid, don't be afraid! If he dares to hit me, I'll just shout loudly; after all, Mom is downstairs.” Fu Guanxian didn't miss her change of expression throughout the entire exchange; he could even easily guess what she was thinking with almost perfect accuracy. Fu Guanxian straightened up and took two steps closer to her direction. Xiang Yang instinctively stepped back in fright. He snorted coldly, “Since you love doing...

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 05

Chapter 05: Yes, I'm a 60s Kid "What?"   Captain Yang was completely baffled. He turned to his two lieutenants, "What did he say?"   Accountant Liu's face scrunched up, "He said something like, 'Leave me alone'?"   Keeper Huang bent over to take a look, waved his hand in front of Chen Fan's eyes. But Chen Fan didn't react at all, so he quickly retracted his hand and whispered to Captain Yang, "This boy, he's probably been possessed by a water ghost, isn't he?"   As soon as he said that, Accountant Liu's legs went weak.   Although it had been ten years since the eradication of feudal superstition, these things had been around for thousands of years, and almost everyone had grown up hearing about them. How could it be so easily dispelled? Especially now, with so many things that couldn't be explained, people often attributed them to ghosts and spirits. They couldn't help but believe, and the older they go...
