The Little Childhood Sweetheart's Counterattack - Chapter 60

Chapter 60: The Return of Ten Million

Several days after the press conference, after finishing recording a new song, Xiang Yang attends a charity gala.

The event ends peacefully. Xiang Yang breathes a sigh of relief. Fortunately, the host and reporters didn't badger her about her and Xing Zhaoyan.

After the gala, she flies to another city early the next morning.

A senior brother in her company is holding a tour concert, and Xiang Yang agreed to be a guest performer.

The concert is successful. The video of them singing together with emotion is posted on Weibo and quickly trends.

They're both big stars. It's rare for them to perform together. Plus, their singing skills are excellent. They're deeply invested in the performance. It's truly a heavenly sound.

After the concert, Xiang Yang rushes to another province to attend the premiere press conference of a film.

This fantasy film, which has a huge budget, is a film that she sings the theme song for.

After singing one song, the audience bursts into applause.

The equipment on stage is a little lacking, but she still manages to perform the song in such a moving way. It's even a little soul-stirring. The audience can't help but be impressed.

After the premiere press conference ends successfully, the director generously offers to treat everyone. Xiang Yang sees that no one declines, so naturally, she's embarrassed to say no. So even though she's exhausted from traveling for days, she goes.

Finally, at 1 AM, the dinner ends. Xiang Yang returns to the hotel. She's exhausted.

Xiao Ai has already checked them into the hotel.

But when she comes out of the elevator and is about to use her room key, she unexpectedly sees a tall man standing at her door.

He's wearing black dress pants and a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his wrists. Right now, he's leaning against the wall by the door frame, slightly lowering his head, as if he's meditating.

“Fu… Fu Guanxian…”  Xiang Yang never expects to see him here waiting for her.

This is the first time they've met since they parted ways in Qinglin City.

Fu Guanxian sees that she's frowning and staring at him. He can't help but smile and asks, “Is seeing me so surprising? Are you so unhappy?”

Xiangyang purses her lips. She doesn’t look at him. She walks straight past him, puts her room key on the sensor. “Beep.” The door opens.

She puts her hand on the doorknob, turns her head, and gives him a wry smile. Then, her expression turns serious. “I really am not happy to see you.”  She says this, then ducks into the room. But Fu Guanxian is quick on his feet. He stops her and then easily pushes open the door, including her, and walks in confidently.

“You!” Xiang Yang sees him walk in as if he's in his own home. She rushes forward to stop him. “What are you doing! This is my room! I'm very tired. I don't want to talk to you about anything. Please leave.”

Fu Guanxian bends his long legs and sits down on the sofa. He smiles and replies, “Coincidentally, I'm tired too.” Then, he points to the door, seemingly very kindly. “Are you sure you don't want to close it?  If some gossip-loving staff member or guest walks by, you might have another opportunity to make headlines.”

Xiang Yang glares at him angrily. “You have something to tell me?”

“I do.” Fu Guanxian says this, then points to the door again. “Close the door first.”

Even though she really wants to kick him out, Xiang Yang knows it's best to close the door at this point. She really doesn't want to be forced onto the trending list every other day.

She just wants to simply sing.

When Xiang Yang returns, she sees that he's already started to undo his shirt buttons.

Xiang Yang stares at his long, slender fingers, then she sees the exquisite collarbone…

Xiang Yang doesn't dare to think about it. She quickly looks away.

After Fu Guanxian undoes two buttons, he sees that she's blushing and lowering her head. He smiles and says intentionally, “Were you thinking about something you shouldn't have?”

“I wasn't!” Xiang Yang immediately denies.

“You answered so quickly. That means you were.”

Xiang Yang is speechless. “Fu Guanxian, you waited for me at the door of my room in the middle of the night. Is it just to talk about this nonsense?”

He's flown for several hours. After landing, he participated in an event and then immediately had a video conference. Fu Guanxian is also exhausted. But when he sees her, all his fatigue seems to disappear.

He's in a good mood. He hasn't been this happy in over twenty years.

In a good mood, Fu Guanxian answers her question. “As long as it's you, nothing will be nonsense.”

“…” Xiang Yang doesn't know why, but she feels suddenly a little hot.

Right! The air conditioning is off.

Xiang Yang ignores him and rushes to find the remote control to turn on the air conditioning.

The sound of the air conditioner faintly echoes in the room. Xiang Yang feels that the air around her is more comfortable.

She returns to the sofa. He's still sitting there as if he's glued to the spot. Xiang Yang says impatiently, “It's very late.  What's the matter? Say what you need to say, then leave.”

Fu Guanxian raises his head, gazes at her deeply. Then he pulls out a document, holding it between his white index finger and middle finger, and hands it to her. “Here you go.”

“What?” Xiang Yang is confused. “What do you want to give me a document for?”

“Ten million yuan.”

“Huh?” Xiang Yang is sensitive to this number.

Seeing her doubt, Fu Guanxian continues, “That's right. The ten million yuan you gave to Xing Zhaoyan.”

“How…”

“You don't have to be so moved. I got it back for you.”

“Why… why…”

Fu Guanxian smiles. “He had the nerve to ask for so much at once. He didn't even think about whether he could handle it.”  Then, Fu Guanxian says, “Even if he had the ability to take it, I have the ability to make him spit it back out.”

Xiang Yang can't believe it. “You… what did you do to him?”

Fu Guanxian squints slightly. His tone is displeased. “Could I have killed him? He plagiarized my company's new game. As compensation, I just took the ten million you gave him.”

Of course, Xing Zhaoyan still calls him a despicable villain. Because Xing Zhaoyan didn't expect the designer he entrusted with important responsibilities to be a traitor, an informant placed by Fu Guanxian.

After hearing this, Fu Guanxian replies impassively, “All is fair in love and war.  Besides, Mr. Xing was the biggest traitor in Fu's before. Stealing from your employer and betraying them. Isn't that what Mr. Xing is best at and loves to do?”

Xing Zhaoyan thinks his plan is flawless. But in Fu Guanxian's eyes, it's simply not enough.

Now, Xing Zhaoyan's company has suffered a heavy blow. Their finances are likely in dire straits. It's only a matter of time before they go bankrupt.

A defeated dog is harmless.

Although Xiang Yang only hears a brief summary from him, she can only imagine that this must have been planned for a long time.

Xing Zhaoyan thought he would win a glorious victory, but he didn't expect to lose so badly.

But the same can be said for Fu Guanxian. He only returned from abroad a few days ago, yet his actions are so decisive and terrifying.

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 01

Chapter 01: Time Travel Needs Ritual They say that if you set the air conditioner to 16 degrees Celsius, light a candle, put an alarm clock in front of the candle, then sleep under a warm air conditioner blanket, and chant "Heaven and Earth are boundless, the cosmos is turned upside down," you can time travel?   Chen Fan came out of the bathroom after a drunken shower, remembering what his colleague, who was known for his mysterious ways and constantly mentioning the I Ching and esoteric arts (and nicknamed "Daoist"), had said during a drinking session.   Thinking about how he had been in an orphanage since he was 10 years old, and how he had only managed to get through college thanks to part-time jobs and his parents' inheritance, and how he had been working for years but still just a struggling wage earner renting a place in a suburban village, without any family support, it seemed like time traveling wouldn't be too bad. It wouldn't be worse than his...

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 17

Chapter 17: Catching a Big One     After sitting in the room and being exposed to the smoke for a while, Chen Fan listened to Captain Yang and the others discuss next year's work arrangements. He could understand the literal meaning, but he didn't understand why they were making these arrangements.   These three were all veterans, they could communicate clearly with just a few words. They naturally wouldn't explain things.   After listening to their confusing conversation, he couldn't sit still anymore.   He stood up and said, "Captain, Accountant, Keeper, Auntie Yang, you guys continue chatting, I'm going now."   Captain Yang looked up at him, "Stay a little longer. You don't have anything to do when you go back. Just stay here and warm yourself by the fire."   Speaking of the fire, he seemed to remember something, "Is it too cold in your room? I'll get you a brazier."   Chen Fan quickly stopped him, "No, no, it's ...

Chapter 01: The Tyrant's Gaze   Their teacher was a middle-aged man with a large belly. His last name was Wu, he wasn't tall and didn't talk much. Since it was the first PE class of the semester, after briefly introducing himself and summarizing the course content for all the new students, he taught them a few basic warm-up exercises, then had them run a few laps around the field. He was merciful and dismissed the class, allowing everyone to do whatever they wanted.   The boys in the class cheered when they heard they could have free time. They called out to each other and ran towards the basketball court.   As Xiang Yang and a few girls left the field, she heard one of them, a girl with long hair, say, “Oh no! It's actually him who’s our PE teacher!”   Since it was only a few days since the start of school, Xiang Yang only remembered a handful of classmates' names. Although on the first day of school, during the first class, the head teacher, based on academic perf...
