Flash Marriage to a Crazy Rich Husband: I Shocked the World! - Chapter 72

Chapter 72: Heeding Advice

Qin Yanci continued, “I don't really want to drink.”

“It's rare for you to come here.  How can we not have any drinks?”  Li Junlu wanted to appear generous.  He hinted to Song Hanmei to get the wine and set the table.  “Go ahead and open a bottle.  If that's not enough, open another.”

Song Hanmei was furious.  You little bitch, you're siding with the enemy.

If I had insisted on not bringing her back, how much better would it have been?

Seeing this, Li Yuwei had an understanding expression.  I told you this wine wouldn't last.

Qin Yanci, with two people living in his body, is notoriously cheap.

In their previous life, he never spent a cent on her after they got married.

When they got divorced, he didn't have any assets in his name to be divided.  Ten years of youth in exchange for a clean break.

Two years later, she heard that Qin Yanci had jumped into the river.  She never heard anything about him after that.

Maybe he really died.

It was only what he deserved.

Dinner was served.

Li Junlu was reluctant to drink the Moutai and kept putting off raising his glass.

Qin Yanci didn't care.

He preferred to eat the dishes Sisi made than spicy and stinging alcohol.

The home-style tofu was smooth and tender, the braised fish fillets were fresh and fragrant, enough to make your mouth water.  Even the stir-fried green vegetables had a hint of sweetness.

Not every day can you enjoy these dishes.

After dinner,

Sisi saw Qin Yanci off.

When they walked to the side of the road, he said, “Sisi, don't see me off. It's cold outside.”

Sisi said, “If the weather's nice tomorrow, I'll bring you lunch.”

“Wait for me to come find you.”

“Okay.”  Sisi thought, Am I too proactive?  Too clingy?  “I'll go back now.”  She was about to turn around when he grabbed her hand.

“Be careful during this time before your wedding.”  Qin Yanci warned her.

That aunt of hers, and Li Yuwei, made him feel uncomfortable at first glance.

His sixth sense was always accurate.  They definitely had something up their sleeves.

Sisi heed his advice. “Okay.”

Qin Yanci said a couple more things before leaving.

Sisi watched him get on the bus.  She didn't turn around until the bus disappeared and then went back.

She passed by the entrance of the alley and encountered an old lady from the neighborhood.  She was carrying a basket, with a few cabbage leaves showing at the edge.

Sisi greeted her.  “Hello, Auntie.  Are you buying vegetables?”

“Buying vegetables?  After this big snow, the roads are closed.  The delivery trucks can't get in.  The vegetables in the vegetable market are out of stock.  I begged and pleaded with an acquaintance to buy these.”

Sisi's mind raced.  “Out of stock?  Must be expensive?”

“Of course!  A penny a catty of cabbage. Now it's selling for five cents a catty, and people are still scrambling to get it.  Anyone who says cabbage is cheap in the future, I'll fight them.  Do you have any vegetables at home?”

“We have some, but not much.” Sisi bought 300 catties of vegetables before the New Year to save up the money Song Hanmei gave her for groceries.  She begged and pleaded with the vendor to give her a discount.  She saved three cents on that order.  When she brought the vegetables home, Song Hanmei reprimanded her.  Unexpectedly, the price had gone up after the New Year.

It's a pity that ordinary people can't do business openly.  Otherwise, she could make some money selling the leftover vegetables at home.

After parting ways with the old lady, Sisi went back home.

As soon as she entered the door, Song Hanmei berated her.  “Moutai, eight yuan a bottle.  Your dad was going to use it for gifts, and you drank it all.”

“I drank it?  Didn't you open it?  A-Ci said he doesn't drink.  Dad told you to open it.  You should blame Dad.”  Sisi pointed the blame at Li Junlu.

This weak man.

Every time she had a head-on conflict with Song Hanmei, he was like an invisible man.

“If you hadn't mentioned it, how would I have asked your auntie to open it? Did you ask him why he called me Uncle when you saw him off?” Li Junlu shifted the blame onto Sisi, and at the same time, he changed the subject, trying to distract Sisi and Song Hanmei.

“I didn't ask.”  Sisi had her own doubts.

He clearly called her “wife” before.  Now, he's calling her Sisi.

He's also a lot different.

He didn't used to smile much.

Especially when he spoke, he was quite serious.

Now, he's like a different person.

She even suspects that Qin Yanci has a twin brother.

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 01

Chapter 01: Time Travel Needs Ritual They say that if you set the air conditioner to 16 degrees Celsius, light a candle, put an alarm clock in front of the candle, then sleep under a warm air conditioner blanket, and chant "Heaven and Earth are boundless, the cosmos is turned upside down," you can time travel?   Chen Fan came out of the bathroom after a drunken shower, remembering what his colleague, who was known for his mysterious ways and constantly mentioning the I Ching and esoteric arts (and nicknamed "Daoist"), had said during a drinking session.   Thinking about how he had been in an orphanage since he was 10 years old, and how he had only managed to get through college thanks to part-time jobs and his parents' inheritance, and how he had been working for years but still just a struggling wage earner renting a place in a suburban village, without any family support, it seemed like time traveling wouldn't be too bad. It wouldn't be worse than his...

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 13

Chapter 13: You Have a New Order Of course, Chen Fan wouldn't argue with Keeper Huang. He thanked him profusely. He had brought a big bag of sweet potatoes, free of charge, how could he not express his gratitude? After seeing Keeper Huang off, he really didn't dare close the door again, so he just left the door slightly ajar, at least that would provide some cover. He went back into the room. He didn't even touch the tea he poured for Captain Yang. He picked it up and felt it. The temperature was just right, so he took a big gulp. It tasted pretty good, what kind of tea is this? He stood up and lifted the lid of the teapot. He saw two large leaves floating inside, about the size of a baby's palm. It turned out to be “ one-horse tea ”. “One-horse tea” refers to a type of tea where a single leaf can be used to make a pot of tea. Some places also call it “ three-horse tea ”. These leaves are not actually tea leaves, but they are harvested from fresh “ HuBei Hawthorn ” lea...

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 15

Chapter 15: Acquiring a New Skill   Back in his room, Chen Fan continued reading, but after a while, he couldn't focus. His mind was filled with what Jiang Lili had just said.   The chickens were eaten, and they don't raise pigs.   Everyone else went home for the New Year, and they didn't leave anything good for that girl?   That's too much!   After a while, Chen Fan couldn't sit still, so he put down the book, got up and walked out.   He went to Jiang Lili's door and greeted her, "Hey, Xiao Jiang."   Jiang Lili immediately came over, "What is it?"   She paused, a strange look flashed in her eyes. She whispered, "Chen... Chen Fan, I want to ask you something."   Chen Fan was about to speak, but when he heard her say this, he smiled, "Ask away."   Jiang Lili curiously looked at him, "How old are you this year?"   Chen Fan blinked, guessing what she meant, and said, "Eighteen."   Sixteen, almost sevente...
