Rebirth: To Make You Mine - Chapter 04

Chapter 04:  Laying Out the Long Line to Catch a Big Fish

Fu Jinting and Kong Yiyue ended up parting ways rather unhappily.

After he said, “Kong Yiyue, you're shameless!”,  seeing that she just smiled nonchalantly, Fu Jinting found himself inexplicably angry again.

Where did this anger come from?

After Fu Jinting turned and left gracefully, he found a good explanation for his own unusual behavior:  He had never met a girl as shameless as Kong Yiyue!

Kong Yiyue just smiled faintly, standing there and watching the handsome figure fade away.  The curve of her lips kept rising.

Well, it's a good thing you dislike me, isn't it?  The most worrying thing would be if you ignored me completely.

Kong Yiyue straightened her clothes, pulling the hem of her baggy school uniform down to try and cover her wet pants.

She silently rejoiced:  Fortunately, my pants are black, and luckily, this fall wasn't bad.

She planned to go back to her classroom to collect her books and then head back to the dorm to change her clothes.  As she passed by the next classroom, a girl grabbed her arm.

Kong Yiyue recognized her. She was the language representative for the next class.  Because they both had the same language teacher, Kong Yiyue often saw her in the office, and over time, they got to know each other.

The girl held her arm with one hand and pulled her towards the corner of the corridor, asking incredulously, “That person just now...was that Fu Jinting?”

Kong Yiyue knew how much attention Fu Jinting received at school, so she wasn't surprised that she recognized him either. She simply nodded and asked calmly, “What's wrong?”

The girl's grip on her arm tightened,  “Really?  It was him?”  Her tone was still full of disbelief!

Kong Yiyue nodded again.

The girl exclaimed in surprise, then her voice rose a few decibels as she said, “So it really was Fu Jinting who hugged you?”

Kong Yiyue: "..."

That wasn't a hug!  They were both just in a hurry and bumped into each other!

And when she was about to fall, she remembered that he actually pulled his hand back.  He was like a fox watching her get into a state of embarrassment!

Although Kong Yiyue was secretly disdainful of his unchivalrous behavior, she didn't show it on her face at all.  She simply lowered her cheeks slightly in a bashful manner, then quickly whispered, “I should go now.”

That sounded like a bashful confirmation.

So, the next day, Qinglin High had a new rumor circulating.

During the break after the first class, Fu Jinting had just stood up when he was surrounded by Xiang Yi and Zhong Ziyang, who were grinning from ear to ear.

Fu Jinting's expression immediately became alert. “Put away your grins, they're hideous.”

Zhong Ziyang didn't care about his threat at the moment,  he laughed and put his arm around his shoulder. “Hey, come clean.”

Fu Jinting looked up, his sharp gaze sweeping over the two of them. As if sensing something, he directly asked, “What rumor is going around now?”

“Hehe!”  Zhong Ziyang smirked, “They are all saying that you were hugging Kong Yiyue at the staircase yesterday.”

Fu Jinting raised his eyebrows slightly.

Xiang Yi noticed this tiny movement and sat down in an empty seat nearby, lazily asking, “Is it true or a rumor?”

Fu Jinting snorted coldly and said, “It seems Kong Yiyue really is that shameless.”

Calling a girl shameless?

Zhong Ziyang and Xiang Yi exchanged a knowing look.  Did this mean...Fu Jinting really had it out for Kong Yiyue?

Zhong Ziyang blurted out his question without hesitation, “Fu Jinting, you wouldn't actually be entangled with that Kong Yiyue, would you?”

Otherwise, why would he give her such a harsh “shameless” evaluation?  Unless he had experienced it firsthand?

Fu Jinting suddenly thought of her confident future plan again, and he snorted in his heart, “I wouldn't have anything to do with her.”  He said it firmly and decisively.

But Xiang Yi felt that he had known Fu Jinting since birth, and he had never seen him have such an unusual emotion towards any girl.

If you were to say he liked Kong Yiyue, it didn't seem like it at all.

If you were to say he looked down on Kong Yiyue?  That was more likely.

Xiang Yi calculated in his mind and finally concluded:  Perhaps that Kong Yiyue stepped on some unknown and unassailable point of his?

Haha, if that's the case, things are bound to get even more interesting.

Xiang Yi smiled and comforted him, “Fu Jinting, don't bother with her. Over the years, there have been many girls who have claimed to like you, why don't you just ignore them like you usually do?”

Fu Jinting's expression darkened again when he heard this.

Xiang Yi was right.

He shouldn't have gone out of his way to say those things to Kong Yiyue yesterday.  He wanted to scare her off, but he had inadvertently discovered her thick-skinned nature.

Fu Jinting knew that the more he reacted to her and their gossip, the more Kong Yiyue would feel a sense of satisfaction from her schemes.

Hmph, he's been so uncomfortable these past two days, why should he make other people feel good?

So, in the afternoon, Class One spread another response from Fu Jinting:  He didn't have any romantic relationship with Kong Yiyue, and there would never be any possibility.

When Kong Yiyue learned about this through Yuan Meng's relaying, she simply smiled faintly and continued to work on her chemistry problems.

In her previous life, she consistently achieved above-average grades in all subjects until her junior year, when chemistry proved to be her weakest subject.  Later, her career as a teacher led her to explore and delve deeper into many subjects, expanding beyond her English major.  Unexpectedly, her past efforts made her current learning remarkably effortless. She could recall numerous knowledge points with a simple glance, making the learning process almost effortless.

So, she had focused most of her energy on chemistry.

Seeing her so calmly facing Fu Jinting's rejection, Yuan Meng was a little doubtful, “Yiyue, do you really like Fu Jinting?”

Kong Yiyue asked without lifting her head, “Why do you ask that?”

Yuan Meng was discouraged, “I have been trying to figure out whether you like Fu Jinting or not. You say you do, but it doesn't seem like you care much!”

Kong Yiyue also knew that her attitude was too mature for someone her age.

But after all, she had experienced one life.  She was more optimistic about things than them, and she also considered the long-term perspective.

Fu Jinting's matter was not something that could be achieved overnight.

If he fell for her during high school and agreed to be with her, then there would be at least six or seven years between the two of them getting together and getting married.  Over time, there would be unpredictable changes.

Besides, if the two of them were together for too long, by the time they reached the age of marriage, wouldn't there be any freshness left?

So Kong Yiyue's plan was—to lay out the long line to catch a big fish.

Thinking about this, Kong Yiyue smiled and explained, “Yuan Meng, you know how influential Fu Jinting is in school.  So I think this matter of mine, I can't rush it, because rushing won't do any good.”

Yuan Meng saw her so calm and asked,  “Are you really that confident that Fu Jinting will like you?”

Kong Yiyue thought seriously, it seemed that until her death, Fu Jinting had never married.

Kong Yiyue didn't answer. Instead, she moved her chemistry workbook over and asked Yuan Meng, “Is this how you solve this problem?”

“Which one?  Let me see...”

The highly anticipated weekend arrived as promised, after a long week.

Of the four people in the dorm, Yuan Meng and another girl surnamed Yang were both locals, so they would go home every weekend.

Kong Yiyue's hometown was in an old city, a long journey. She could only go home during holidays.  Also, the situation at home wasn't very optimistic, so Kong Yiyue subconsciously didn't really want to go back.

The dorm was empty on the weekend. Yang Tian got up at 6 a.m. to recite English vocabulary.  Kong Yiyue woke up at 7 a.m., got up, ran a few hundred meters as usual, returned to the dorm to wash up, and then packed her bag and went out.

Before school started this semester, Kong Yiyue signed up for a yoga class in the city center.

The teacher of the class was very unique. The tuition was half the price of other yoga classes, but there was one requirement: the students had to be approved by her.  In other words, she had to find them satisfactory.

Kong Yiyue had initially gone for the half-price tuition, but she hadn't expected to get into the class so easily. So, she was very punctual for her classes both days of the weekend.

In her previous life, she had also taken yoga classes for half a semester in college.  Unfortunately, she was busy with her studies and student council work later on, and she didn't have the energy to manage both and decided to quit.

It wasn't until a few years after graduation that she realized how many benefits there were for women who practiced yoga.  Besides shaping a perfect figure and improving body flexibility, it could also stabilize emotions, cultivate a positive, peaceful, and calm mindset, and it would also make women more graceful and increase their charm.

So after being reborn in her senior year of high school, Kong Yiyue was determined to stick with yoga.

After the morning class ended, Kong Yiyue was drenched in sweat. The practice room had a special area next to it for showering, and Kong Yiyue took advantage of it to take a refreshing shower, changing into clean clothes.

When she came out of the yoga class, she was waiting for the elevator when she suddenly noticed the black figure beside her who was also waiting for the elevator... Fu Qingrui?

Kong Yiyue unconsciously called out his name.

She had just wanted to confirm, but unexpectedly, the person who turned away from his phone and raised his head was Fu Qingrui.

Fu Qingrui was somewhat similar to Fu Jinting, but his face had more childishness and unconventionality, unlike Fu Jinting's depth.

He had fair, full cheeks, and a fringe brushed against his forehead. The corners of his eyes were slightly raised, with a hint of arrogance and dominance.

Hearing the stranger beside him call out his name, he first looked her up and down unabashedly.  Well, her cheeks were flushed, and her breathing was still a little uneven.  Clearly, she had just finished a strenuous workout.

He was wearing light blue jeans and a tight-fitting white long-sleeved black shirt.  His long hair was loose, and his figure was slender and shapely...

Fu Qingrui's gaze lingered on her delicate face for a while before turning his head. His voice was unfriendly, “I don't know you.”

Kong Yiyue smiled, “Well, I'm your future sister-in-law.”

Fu Qingrui was startled and nearly dropped his phone...

Translator's Rumbling's:

Chapter 01:

而空倚月知道,他最後娶了聶靈薇,青臨市聶家的千金,也是他的大學女友,人人都說他們兩人是金童玉女。

And Kong Yiyue knew that he eventually married Nie Ling Wei, the daughter of the Nie family in Qinglin City, also his university girlfriend. Everyone said they were a perfect match.

Chapter 04:

空倚月認真地想了想,好像直到自己死前,付靳庭都沒有結婚吧。

Kong Yiyue thought seriously, it seemed that until her death, Fu Jinting had never married.

Contradiction: Chapter 01 states Fu Jinting married Nie Ling Wei, but Chapter 04 implies he remained unmarried until Kong Yiyue's death.

I'm confused!!! 😵

This could be either the author's oversight or a misinterpretation on my part.

Transmigrated to a Prehistoric Tribe to Farm and Build Infrastructure - Chapter 02

Chapter 02: Fish Ball and Wild Vegetable Soup   Chen Rong had just returned to the East Continent, his mind still unsettled. Unexpectedly, he was stopped by a female.   He looked down at the female who only reached his chest.   Thin, with a yellowish complexion.   Her small face was dominated by a pair of vibrant eyes.   “My name is Changxia, from the He Luo tribe of the beastmen. Male, what's your name? Are you married? Do you want to marry me? Room and board included.”   “…” Chen Rong was silent. Had he been away from the Dusk Forest for too long? Were the females nowadays so bold and passionate? For a moment, Chen Rong couldn't react; he was stunned.   Seeing the male standing there, lost in thought,   Changxia waved her hand and said loudly, “Don't you want to?”   “Are you of age?” Chen Rong hesitated, couldn't help but laugh, and asked, “Are all beastmen females as direct as you? I remember birdmen are the ones who are this straightforw...

The Little Childhood Sweetheart's Counterattack - Chapter 10

Chapter 10: Homework and Retribution “Didn't you say that either I could take your car back, or I could come to your house tonight to help you with your homework? I chose the second option.” After saying this in one breath, Xiang Yang didn’t dare to take a single breath. She felt a kind of bravery akin to being placed in a desperate situation and choosing to fight back. Otherwise, what gave her the courage to dare to retort to Fu Guanxian like this? However, even though she was extremely scared inside, Xiang Yang kept reassuring herself: “Don't be afraid, don't be afraid! If he dares to hit me, I'll just shout loudly; after all, Mom is downstairs.” Fu Guanxian didn't miss her change of expression throughout the entire exchange; he could even easily guess what she was thinking with almost perfect accuracy. Fu Guanxian straightened up and took two steps closer to her direction. Xiang Yang instinctively stepped back in fright. He snorted coldly, “Since you love doing...

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 05

Chapter 05: Yes, I'm a 60s Kid "What?"   Captain Yang was completely baffled. He turned to his two lieutenants, "What did he say?"   Accountant Liu's face scrunched up, "He said something like, 'Leave me alone'?"   Keeper Huang bent over to take a look, waved his hand in front of Chen Fan's eyes. But Chen Fan didn't react at all, so he quickly retracted his hand and whispered to Captain Yang, "This boy, he's probably been possessed by a water ghost, isn't he?"   As soon as he said that, Accountant Liu's legs went weak.   Although it had been ten years since the eradication of feudal superstition, these things had been around for thousands of years, and almost everyone had grown up hearing about them. How could it be so easily dispelled? Especially now, with so many things that couldn't be explained, people often attributed them to ghosts and spirits. They couldn't help but believe, and the older they go...
