Flash Marriage to a Crazy Rich Husband: I Shocked the World! - Chapter 125

 Chapter 125: Awkward

Ying Sisi went to the restaurant by a roundabout way.

Old Zhao was just about to order some river mussels. “You're just in time.  I want to order a hundred pounds of the river mussels. The price is one yuan per pound.  It's even more expensive than the fish we get from the market.  What do you think?  If you have peaches, bring some of those too.”

“I'm not selling them anymore.”  Ying Sisi revealed about the upcoming inspection.  “You should lay low for a while.  If you're caught, the restaurant will push all the blame on you.  You'll be in trouble.”

“Where did you hear that?  Are you trying to scare me? I'm not easily scared.”  Old Zhao laughed.

Ying Sisi said seriously, “I'm not joking. This information is very reliable.  If we weren't good friends, I wouldn't bother to tell you. You can choose not to believe me.  But don't cry when you lose your job.”

Old Zhao finally took it seriously. “Okay. Thanks for letting me know.  Is the pickled radish good?  Do you like pickled garlic?”

“It's good.  I like it. What?  You want to give me some?”

Old Zhao laughed again. “Wait, I'll get it for you.”

“Okay.” Ying Sisi readily accepted.  Free stuff is always good.

Old Zhao went back to the kitchen and brought out a glass jar filled with crystal clear green garlic cloves.

Ying Sisi took the jar and thanked him. She said goodbye and hurried home. The lights were on in the living room.

She put the glass jar down.  As she was taking off her coat, Qin Yanci walked out of the guest room.  “You were gone so long delivering something? Did they give you a hard time?”

“No.  On my way back, I deliberately went past Su Mansion Restaurant to order some nice dishes for tomorrow. I ran into Old Zhao and chatted with him. He gave me some pickled garlic.  I didn't end up ordering any dishes.” Ying Sisi said half-truthfully.

Qin Yanci looked at the glass jar.  “Can I have this? I want to give it to my tutor. He and his wife were talking about the pickled garlic at home.  His wife said that it was too late to make any more. I wanted to prepare a jar for him. The taste of what you buy outside is definitely not as good as the kind the restaurant uses to entertain their VIP customers.”

“Of course.” Ying Sisi agreed generously.  She put it in a cloth bag and placed it on the dining table. “Don't forget it when you leave tomorrow.”

“Okay.” Qin Yanci paused for a moment. “I bought some medicinal wine. Take off your clothes and rub it on your shoulder.”

“Oh, it's just a little bump.  It's not that serious. Why use medicinal wine?” Ying Sisi said that, but she lifted up her clothes.

The skin that was red just now was now back to its normal white color. She felt a bit awkward. She silently put her clothes back down. “Ahem, I said it wasn't serious.  Look, it's already healed.”  Sigh, this body heals so quickly.  I can't even pretend to be weak.  She added, “It still hurts a little inside.  Let's rub some medicinal wine on it.”  It would be a waste of his kindness, right?

“Okay, bear with it.”  Qin Yanci moved carefully.

He applied the alcohol-soaked towel to her skin.  Ying Sisi pretended to scream.

“Does it hurt? I haven't even started massaging it yet.”

Ying Sisi: "."

"."

Ying Sisi rubbed the medicinal wine on and rested.  The next day, she went to the morning market and bought two pounds of pork.  She planned to go into the forest to pick some wild vegetables and peaches, but she changed her mind.

I don't lack for food or drink now.

I don't need to walk dozens of miles for a couple of wild delicacies.

I'll just stay home and knit a scarf for Qin Yanci.

She was halfway through knitting the scarf when there was a knock on the door.  “Is anyone home? I'm from the post office.”

Ying Sisi thought it was a letter from her father-in-law. “Just slip it through the door.”

“I can't.  It's a package.”

Ying Sisi had to open the door.

The postman handed her a receipt. “Please sign here.”

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 01

Chapter 01: Time Travel Needs Ritual They say that if you set the air conditioner to 16 degrees Celsius, light a candle, put an alarm clock in front of the candle, then sleep under a warm air conditioner blanket, and chant "Heaven and Earth are boundless, the cosmos is turned upside down," you can time travel?   Chen Fan came out of the bathroom after a drunken shower, remembering what his colleague, who was known for his mysterious ways and constantly mentioning the I Ching and esoteric arts (and nicknamed "Daoist"), had said during a drinking session.   Thinking about how he had been in an orphanage since he was 10 years old, and how he had only managed to get through college thanks to part-time jobs and his parents' inheritance, and how he had been working for years but still just a struggling wage earner renting a place in a suburban village, without any family support, it seemed like time traveling wouldn't be too bad. It wouldn't be worse than his...

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 04

Chapter 04: In 1977, Do Not Disturb   The girl soon walked over, placed the earthenware bowl filled with the strong scent of Chinese medicine on the table, and said softly, with her head down, "This is your medicine."   Chen Fan looked at her, then at the medicine, and he had a strange feeling of déjà vu, like "Da Lang, drink your medicine."   Seeing that Chen Fan didn't move, the girl explained softly, "This was prescribed for you by Doctor Zhang from the brigade. He said you have a cold in your body and must take medicine. You had a high fever last night, and you only got better after taking this medicine."   Chen Fan realized what she meant and responded, "Oh, thank you."   He picked up the bowl and took a sip. The temperature was just right. It was clearly cooled in the kitchen before being brought over. She was a thoughtful person.   He then closed his eyes and gulped it down in one go.   After he finished drinking, his facial expressi...

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 13

Chapter 13: You Have a New Order Of course, Chen Fan wouldn't argue with Keeper Huang. He thanked him profusely. He had brought a big bag of sweet potatoes, free of charge, how could he not express his gratitude? After seeing Keeper Huang off, he really didn't dare close the door again, so he just left the door slightly ajar, at least that would provide some cover. He went back into the room. He didn't even touch the tea he poured for Captain Yang. He picked it up and felt it. The temperature was just right, so he took a big gulp. It tasted pretty good, what kind of tea is this? He stood up and lifted the lid of the teapot. He saw two large leaves floating inside, about the size of a baby's palm. It turned out to be “ one-horse tea ”. “One-horse tea” refers to a type of tea where a single leaf can be used to make a pot of tea. Some places also call it “ three-horse tea ”. These leaves are not actually tea leaves, but they are harvested from fresh “ HuBei Hawthorn ” lea...
