The Little Childhood Sweetheart's Counterattack - Chapter 33

Chapter 33:  A Fight in the Cafeteria

The cafeteria is in chaos.  All the students put down their chopsticks and watch Fu Guanxian fight. It's safe to say that Xing Zhaoyan was beaten to the point where he couldn't fight back.  He just covered his head and dodged everywhere.  After taking two or three punches in the abdomen and back, Zheng Jie and the other guys finally pulled Fu Guanxian away.

“Hey, what happened?  Why are they fighting?” someone in the crowd says.

“Isn't that Fu Guanxian, the school heartthrob?”

“I know the other guy too, Xing Zhaoyan, a Year 2 student.  Why are they fighting?”

“I don't know!  But I saw it clearly, Fu Guanxian started the fight without saying a word!”

The crowd each says their piece.

Fu Guanxian doesn't care. He stares at Xing Zhaoyan and says, “Next time, if I hear you speak to me like that again, I swear, I'll beat you up every time I see you! If you dare to approach her again, I'll cripple you!”

Xing Zhaoyan covers his sore abdomen, bends over, and grits his teeth as he says, “Cripple me?  What can you do? Fu Guanxian, are you going to use your fists?”

“You dare to say another word!”

Xing Zhaoyan doesn't seem to be scared by Fu Guanxian's domineering threat at all.  He laughs with difficulty, “It would be strange if she liked someone who uses his fists to solve problems all the time.  Fu Guanxian, if I don't have a chance, you definitely won't have a chance either.  Don't forget, I'm the one closest to her.  Close to the water's edge, the willows are first to get the wind...”

“Shut up!” Fu Guanxian's arms are restrained by Zheng Jie and the others, and unable to swing a fist, he kicks Xing Zhaoyan in the abdomen. Xing Zhaoyan groans, his knees directly hit the ground, which is covered in food scraps, and his expression is filled with pain.

At this point, the Year 2 boys finally dare to come forward and rush to his side, asking him how he is.

“What are you doing!” A strong voice rings out.  It's the head teacher.

The head teacher sees the situation and, without saying anything, instructs the female teacher who's followed him, “Take Xing Zhaoyan to the infirmary first.  As for Fu Guanxian and the rest of you, come to the office with me.”

Fu Guanxian shakes off Zheng Jie's restraint and says loudly, “I'm the one who beat him up. They just tried to stop me. They have nothing to do with it.”

The head teacher turns and glares at him, “Fu Guanxian, you hit someone and you dare to be so arrogant!”

“It's a shame that I didn't get my fill!” Fu Guanxian continues, not afraid of death.

“Fu Guanxian!” The head teacher is quite angry. “Get your ass to the office right now!”

Fu Guanxian looks coldly at Xing Zhaoyan, who's pretending to need the help of other students to walk, then he coldly snorts before rushing out of the door.

Zheng Jie, who's busy following him, knows that this has gotten out of hand.

After the parties involved leave, the onlookers are still a bit unsatisfied. One of the girls asks, “What major event caused them to fight? Aren't they from different grades and classes?”

“Who knows?  Someone nearby said they heard Xing Zhaoyan mention their class's Xiang Yang, and then Fu Guanxian lost control and hit him.”

“Xiang Yang? Could it be the Year 2 top student who's rumored to be with Fu Guanxian?”

“It seems so!”

Ding Wanjun, who's behind them, can't help but laugh.  The laugh is particularly abrupt.

One of the girls doesn't understand.  “What are you laughing at?”

“Oh, I just heard that this Xiang Yang caused a boy to be beaten up by Fu Guanxian and sent to the hospital.  Think about it, the term ‘femme fatale’ seems to apply to her too.”

When everyone hears this, their expressions are quite interesting - they didn't know that Xiang Yang was a troublemaker.

But Xiang Yang doesn't know that her image in the hearts of some girls has been destroyed.  She only finds out when her classmates return from the cafeteria, someone excitedly describes the epic scene, and Fan Xiaoyu finds it strange and asks the guys, “Who fought in the cafeteria?”

One of the guys immediately replies, “What do you mean who fought?  It was a one-sided battle! The class monitor didn't even fight back. I was so confused.  Any guy would at least fight back a little, why was the class monitor just letting himself get beaten up?  Why didn't he fight back!”

Fan Xiaoyu is stunned. “You…you mean the class monitor and Fu Guanxian fought?”

The guy corrects, “To be precise, Fu Guanxian beat up our class monitor!”

Xiang Yang immediately says, “Why would he hit Xing Zhaoyan?”

“Who knows!  Originally, Xing Zhaoyan was sitting next to him, eating. Then Fu Guanxian just hit him!  It was quite a scene. The head teacher came with a dark face to clean up the mess.”

Xiang Yang immediately asks, “What about Xing Zhaoyan?”

“The class monitor?  The teacher just took him to the infirmary.  I don't know how he is now!”

Xiang Yang hears this and immediately gets up to run out of the classroom.  Fan Xiaoyu reacts and catches up to her. “Xiang Yang! Where are you going?”

Xiang Yang rushes, “I'm going to the infirmary to see how Xing Zhaoyan is!”

Fan Xiaoyu is in a hurry, “Hey, don't run so fast! Be careful of the stairs!”

Xiang Yang doesn't care about all that!

How could Fu Guanxian relapse and hit someone so easily!

But Xing Zhaoyan is different from the boy in junior high. He's helped her so much. But Fu Guanxian beat him up.  Xiang Yang feels that she owes Xing Zhaoyan a favor, and it's even more difficult to repay him now.

As Fan Xiaoyu runs behind her towards the infirmary, she keeps chattering, “How could Fu Guanxian hit the class monitor?  Is it because of you?  Fu Guanxian is really passionate about the woman he loves!”

Xiang Yang doesn't have the mood to joke with her.  “Stop it, okay?”

Fan Xiaoyu is innocent. “The situation has already happened. What can we do?  It's no use if you're so anxious.  The head teacher and the teachers are involved. They'll definitely handle it!”

Xiang Yang is still anxious.

But when they get to the infirmary, they don't see anyone. The nurse on duty tells them that a teacher brought a student over, but for safety reasons, it's best to go to the hospital for a checkup.  So the teacher took the injured student to the hospital.

They don't know which hospital it is. They also have classes in the afternoon, so Xiang Yang can't chase after them.

She stands at the infirmary door, a little dazed.

Fan Xiaoyu comforts her, “It's alright. Don't worry.”

Xiang Yang's face is still pale. Fan Xiaoyu picks up a glass of water from the infirmary and hands it to her, “Have some water and calm down.”

Xiang Yang takes it and thanks her.

Fan Xiaoyu has nothing to do, so she leans against the wall and says, “This time, Fu's punishment will probably be very severe, right? He beat someone up and sent him to the hospital! The class monitor's parents definitely won't let it go!”

Xiang Yang is holding a disposable plastic cup.  Her fingertips press slightly, and the cup deforms.

She doesn't understand why Fu Guanxian doesn't consider the consequences when he does things.  Why did he beat up Xing Zhaoyan?  He beat him up, but it's still him who faces the school's punishment.  Why would he do this?

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 32

Chapter 32: Time to Earn Work Points     Chen Fan slept under the covers for who knows how long. When he woke up, the effects of the alcohol had worn off.   He was tempted to stay huddled in the covers, but he worried about not being able to sleep at night. Also, he didn't know what time it was or if it was time to make dinner, so he got out of bed and put on his clothes.   Walking out of the room, he looked up at the sky. The sky was still gloomy, and a flock of birds flew by. They were too far away for him to see what kind of birds they were, but they weren't pigeons.   Actually, even if you put the birds in front of him, he might not recognize them. He only knew sparrows, pigeons, parrots, magpies, cuckoos, owls, and egrets. He wasn't very familiar with other birds.   He stretched and walked towards Jiang Lili's room, wanting to ask her if she knew the time.   There wasn't even a clock here, which was really inconvenient. He didn't know how t...

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 02

Chapter 02: Tell the Truth   Seeing that Chen Fan refused to cooperate, Captain Yang became angry. He slammed his hand on the table and shouted to the crowd outside, "Lao San, go get Constable Zhu here."   Chen Fan shrank his neck, feeling guilty and helpless. What a mess!   Captain Yang then remained silent, staring at him with a stern look, hoping to break his psychological defenses and make him confess his identity.   Twenty minutes later, a bicycle bell rang. The villagers who had been crowding around the doorway gossiping quickly cleared a path. A man wearing a cap and a navy blue police uniform walked in.   Before he even entered the room, his voice reached them, "Captain Yang, what's going on?"   Captain Yang stood up, took out a cigarette and offered him one, then used a match to light it for him. He also lit one for himself, then motioned for the man to sit at the table before pointing at Chen Fan and saying, "Yesterday, while we were going to the ...

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 19

Chapter 19: New Skill     Before Jiang Lili could speak, he dashed out.   This time, he didn't take the main road, but took the small path. Like a diligent bee, he brought back ten more large soft-shelled turtles.   Although they weren't as big as the first one he brought back, they were all as big as a washbasin. Decades later, these would sell for 1000 yuan per jin, but now he could pick them up at will.   By this time, Jiang Lili had already boiled the water. She also took out the large iron pot that was used for cooking pig feed which was hidden on the wooden rack in the pigsty. She carefully cleaned it with straw and placed it on the simple stove next to the pigsty.   Next, it was Chen Fan's turn to perform.   First, he used a cotton stalk to keep the soft-shelled turtle's mouth busy, pulled out its head, and before it knew, he had quickly cut it in half. The turtle's blood gushed out.   He didn't waste the turtle's blood, collecti...
