Chapter 40: Vow of Revenge
Li Yuwei saw them sitting on the bed. Qin Yanci was facing away from her, his head bowed, his hands on Sisi.
He was completely blocking Sisi from view.
She couldn't see anything and was about to leave when she saw Sisi's hand reach out and wrap around the man's neck.
She immediately realized what they were doing.
The anger that had been bottled up inside her flared again.
Damn Qin Yanci.
They had been married for ten years.
He wouldn't even let her hold his hand, let alone kiss him.
How come he could kiss and embrace Sisi?
What was the difference between this and cheating on her?
Anger overrode reason. She picked up a brick on the ground and threw it at the window.
The loud bang startled the couple inside. They both turned towards the window.
The cold wind from outside rushed in, blowing the curtains.
Li Yuwei's fleeing figure was clearly visible to both of them.
“A-Ci, it's Li Yuwei. She's going to spread rumors,” Sisi worried.
She should have rejected him.

Qin Yanci suppressed his anger and said gently, “Don't worry. It's a private matter. If she spreads it around, people will only think less of her.”
Sisi thought that made sense and her mood immediately calmed down.
Qin Yanci asked her to find a ruler and some newspaper. He sealed the leak and measured the window size before leaving.
About half an hour later, he returned with a piece of glass. He removed the broken pane and replaced it with a new one.
Sisi watched him work, her eyes involuntarily glancing at his lips. They were plump and moist, and she couldn't help but want to kiss him. She hated Li Yuwei for interrupting their intimacy. She touched her own lips and realized how ridiculous her thoughts were. Her face flushed.
Qin Yanci finished installing the glass, jumped off the stool, and looked at her with a smile. “What are you standing there looking at, silly?”
Sisi turned away, pretending to be calm. “I wasn't looking at anything.”
Qin Yanci: “I'm going back now. It's cold outside. Don't go out.” He was afraid he might do something else if he stayed any longer.
“Okay.”

Qin Yanci reached the corner and saw Li Yuwei walking towards him.
She glared at him fiercely.
As they neared each other, Qin Yanci swung his arm and slapped her.
Li Yuwei, caught off guard, stumbled and fell into the dirty snow at the base of the wall.
“Ah!”
Tears streamed down Li Yuwei's face. She covered her face and said incredulously, “You hit me again?”
“You deserved it,” Qin Yanci warned. “Next time, it won't be just a slap.” He walked away without looking back.
Li Yuwei punched the snow in anger, swearing silently:
Qin Yanci, you'll pay for this!
When I get rich, I'll make your whole family miserable.
At that time, I'll make you kneel down and beg me to spare you..
She got up and brushed the snow off her clothes.
Then she left.
Qin Yanci stopped at that moment, turned back, squinted his eyes, and looked at Li Yuwei. Hit her again?
This was the first time he'd ever hit someone.
Could it be that person?
That person shouldn't know Li Yuwei.
Li Yuwei cried as she went home.
At that moment, Sisi was eating steamed buns. Li Yuwei came over, snatched the bun from her hand, and threw it away. “These are all my family's things. You don't deserve to eat them.”
Sisi was heartbroken. She quickly picked up the bun and brushed off the dirt. “What's wrong with you? Your family's buns? Why don't you say that your dad used me to exchange for the betrothal gift and your mom doesn't deserve to spend it?” It was almost New Year's, and Song Hanmei had bought several new outfits.
Did her salary cover that?
Li Yuwei said, “The betrothal gift was originally given to me by the Qin family.”
Sisi retorted, “Then you marry him! See if A-Ci wants you.”
