Rebirth: To Make You Mine - Chapter 15

Chapter 15: A Forced Kiss

“What are you doing?!”

The voice, cold and sharp, echoed in the empty classroom. Kong Yiyue subconsciously felt a chill run down her spine, her gaze fixed on his eyes, unable to look away.

Fu Jinting had appeared out of nowhere, in such an... inexplicable way.

He stood just outside the classroom door, one hand gripping his black jacket. The thin white shirt he wore had two buttons undone at the collar, the edges seeming to flutter slightly in the breeze. From a distance, he looked unrestrained and free.

Relief washed over Kong Yiyue in wave after wave. When she spoke, her voice trembled uncontrollably: “Fu… Fu Jinting…”

Kong Yiyue thought: It really wasn't intentional! It was just that as she spoke, the tears welling in her eyes blurred her vision, trembling droplets clinging to her lashes, making her look so pitifully vulnerable that even Fu Jinting couldn't help but slightly narrow his eyes, a flicker of something Kong Yiyue couldn't believe—pity—flashing across them.

After being interrupted by Fu Jinting, Lin Anyi remained stiff. Seeing Fu Jinting's intense game fixed on him and Kong Yiyue, unwavering and without further action, yet with no intention of leaving, Lin Anyi wondered what Fu Jinting intended to do!

Fu Jinting raised his gaze slightly, his contempt barely concealed: “Not letting go?”

Lin Anyi froze, then slowly released his grip. He laughed mockingly at Kong Yiyue: “I never thought you could actually win Fu Jinting over!”

...

...

For the first time, Fu Jinting readily accepted the misunderstanding of his relationship with Kong Yiyue from an outsider. Yes, for the first time, he felt a deliberate urge not to explain.

Kong Yiyue thought Fu Jinting would be angry, but seeing him act as if he hadn't heard, she ignored the topic as well, simply twitching the corner of her mouth, as if with great effort: “Lin Anyi, you said I was dreaming, but the reality is, he really came!”

Lin Anyi burst into laughter: “Kong Yiyue, do you really think Fu Jinting will end up with you? Look at your background, you…”

“Lin Anyi!”

A sharp “slap” echoed through the room. Kong Yiyue retracted her stinging hand, letting it fall to her side. She said coldly, “Get as far away from me as possible!” Her voice was low, the potential rage subtly suppressed.

“Kong Yiyue!” Lin Anyi was furious. When had he ever been treated like this by a girl! His raised hand hadn't even fully come down when Fu Jinting, who had somehow quickly entered the room, grabbed his wrist. Lin Anyi tried to yank it away, but to no avail. Pain shot up his arm, contorting his face.

Fu Jinting used the leverage to throw him a meter away. As soon as Lin Anyi regained his balance, he heard Fu Jinting roar: “Get out!”

Even if he was unwilling, he could only swallow his anger and leave!

Because of his actions in defending Kong Yiyue, Fu Jinting now stood before her.

Kong Yiyue just looked up at him blankly, speechless. Her lashes were wet, her eyes red. She lowered her head, gently tugging at the hand holding his jacket, whispering choked sobs: “Fu Jinting… I'm cold.” Then, she couldn't help but shed a few more tears.

The classroom was brightly lit, Kong Yiyue's sobs clearly audible, her tears soaking the dry floor.

Fu Jinting, for some reason, furrowed his brow.

He lowered his gaze slightly, seeing the small swirl in her dark hair, then his gaze lingered on her face, partially obscured by her loose hair.

Fu Jinting acted involuntarily. He reached out to stop Kong Yiyue from raising her hand to rub her eyes, then, seeing her surprised look, he explained impatiently: “You look ugly crying!”

Kong Yiyue thought to herself: I'm not a seasoned actress. You expect me to cry beautifully and pitifully? It's too difficult!

Kong Yiyue was extremely unhappy, but her expression remained unchanged. She deliberately sobbed twice, asking intermittently: “Do… do you have tissues?”

Fu Jinting threw his jacket over her, then coldly said: “Get them yourself, they're in my pocket!”

Kong Yiyue “oh”-ed, unceremoniously taking out his tissues to wipe away her tears, then requested: “I don't want to stand here and be seen.”

“Hm?” Fu Jinting frowned at her.

Kong Yiyue explained: “If they come back and see us, it will cause you trouble.”

Fu Jinting bluntly stated the truth: “Have you caused me any less trouble?”

“…” Kong Yiyue muttered in defiance: “That's not the same!”

Fu Jinting “hmph”-ed, unable to see the difference!

He raised his eyes, coldly scanning the somewhat messy scene, then turned to leave. After taking two steps, Kong Yiyue followed.

Fu Jinting noticed, but didn't immediately stop her. Instead, after they had walked some distance from the building, seeing Kong Yiyue still quietly following two steps behind him, he stopped, turned, and said sharply: “What are you following me for?!”

Kong Yiyue glanced at him, then lowered her head, pulling his black jacket tighter around herself.

Fu Jinting's gaze immediately fell on her small action, then on his… jacket!

Fu Jinting resisted the urge to facepalm. So, she had—walked all the way out of the building wearing his jacket?

Fu Jinting uncomfortably ordered: “Take off my jacket!”

Kong Yiyue pitifully shook her head: “No, I'm cold.”

“Kong Yiyue!”

“Fu Jinting, I don't want to go back to the classroom tonight. I don't want to see his face for now.”

His face? Fu Jinting paused. Was it the boy from earlier?

“What's your relationship with him?” Even without knowing the context, it was clear they were alone together. What surprised him was that Kong Yiyue had been so… vulnerable? And crying so… pitifully?

Hearing his question, Kong Yiyue trembled again, the movement subtle, but Fu Jinting still noticed.

“I have nothing to do with him. Fu Jinting, Lin Anyi is disgusting! I never want to be alone with him again! If Yuan Meng hadn't suddenly gone to get water, I wouldn't have… wouldn't have…” She seemed to recall an unpleasant memory.

Seeing her eyes well up again, Fu Jinting felt a headache coming on, his tone becoming unfriendly: “Wouldn't have what? Kong Yiyue, why is your fighting spirit so strong in front of me, but so weak and helpless in front of that so-called Lin Anyi? Kong Yiyue, you shouldn't be like that…”

As soon as he finished speaking, Fu Jinting felt a cold weight on his left shoulder, the chill going straight through his clothes to his skin.

Fu Jinting only caught a glimpse of her soft hand before his lips were invaded by a warm, slightly dry touch.

Kong Yiyue, with lightning speed, stood on tiptoe, her right hand firmly on his shoulder, her other hand nervously clutching his jacket draped over her shoulders. It was a hasty kiss, quickly withdrawn. She put the jacket back on, noticing his intense gaze, simply pursed her lips, pretending not to know.

“Kong Yiyue!” Fu Jinting came to his senses, touching his lower lip, wiping it harshly. “Are you crazy?!”

Fu Jinting couldn't believe that he had just been kissed by a girl!

Kong Yiyue said with a smile: “Fu Jinting, you probably think I, Kong Yiyue, should be that way, but you'll never know that my fighting spirit is only at its peak when I'm facing you. In the classroom just now, I was really scared. When Lin Anyi leaned in, I thought: If I really have to give my first kiss to a boy, then I'd rather take the initiative myself!”

“Fu Jinting, my first kiss, Kong Yiyue's first kiss, I only want to give it to you, and I've conveniently taken yours already!”

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 32

Chapter 32: Time to Earn Work Points     Chen Fan slept under the covers for who knows how long. When he woke up, the effects of the alcohol had worn off.   He was tempted to stay huddled in the covers, but he worried about not being able to sleep at night. Also, he didn't know what time it was or if it was time to make dinner, so he got out of bed and put on his clothes.   Walking out of the room, he looked up at the sky. The sky was still gloomy, and a flock of birds flew by. They were too far away for him to see what kind of birds they were, but they weren't pigeons.   Actually, even if you put the birds in front of him, he might not recognize them. He only knew sparrows, pigeons, parrots, magpies, cuckoos, owls, and egrets. He wasn't very familiar with other birds.   He stretched and walked towards Jiang Lili's room, wanting to ask her if she knew the time.   There wasn't even a clock here, which was really inconvenient. He didn't know how t...

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 02

Chapter 02: Tell the Truth   Seeing that Chen Fan refused to cooperate, Captain Yang became angry. He slammed his hand on the table and shouted to the crowd outside, "Lao San, go get Constable Zhu here."   Chen Fan shrank his neck, feeling guilty and helpless. What a mess!   Captain Yang then remained silent, staring at him with a stern look, hoping to break his psychological defenses and make him confess his identity.   Twenty minutes later, a bicycle bell rang. The villagers who had been crowding around the doorway gossiping quickly cleared a path. A man wearing a cap and a navy blue police uniform walked in.   Before he even entered the room, his voice reached them, "Captain Yang, what's going on?"   Captain Yang stood up, took out a cigarette and offered him one, then used a match to light it for him. He also lit one for himself, then motioned for the man to sit at the table before pointing at Chen Fan and saying, "Yesterday, while we were going to the ...

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 19

Chapter 19: New Skill     Before Jiang Lili could speak, he dashed out.   This time, he didn't take the main road, but took the small path. Like a diligent bee, he brought back ten more large soft-shelled turtles.   Although they weren't as big as the first one he brought back, they were all as big as a washbasin. Decades later, these would sell for 1000 yuan per jin, but now he could pick them up at will.   By this time, Jiang Lili had already boiled the water. She also took out the large iron pot that was used for cooking pig feed which was hidden on the wooden rack in the pigsty. She carefully cleaned it with straw and placed it on the simple stove next to the pigsty.   Next, it was Chen Fan's turn to perform.   First, he used a cotton stalk to keep the soft-shelled turtle's mouth busy, pulled out its head, and before it knew, he had quickly cut it in half. The turtle's blood gushed out.   He didn't waste the turtle's blood, collecti...
