Chapter 13: The Tyrant's Demands
Xiang Yang saw that playful, malicious smile on his face and knew he was going to try to mess with her again.
She subconsciously looked around, knowing that as long as there were other people around, Fu Guanxian wouldn't dare to be so reckless.
Fu Guanxian saw that she seemed to be looking for an escape route, so he held his backpack, took a step forward, and got closer to her, “Long time no see, you despicable villain.”
Despicable villain? Xiang Yang filtered that word in her mind, unwilling to admit it.
When did I become despicable? When did I become a villain?
Fu Guanxian was the despicable one, and he was the villain.
But Xiang Yang didn't want to argue with him about this. She retracted her gaze, as if she hadn't seen him, as if she hadn't heard him say those words, and continued walking forward without looking back.
Fu Guanxian saw this and reached out to grab her backpack from behind.
Her backpack was pulled, Xiang Yang stepped back two steps, and heard Fu Guanxian say in a nasty tone, “Xiang Yang, you're getting bolder!”
“Let go.”
“If you dare to walk forward again, I will definitely deal with you.” Fu Guanxian said this as a threat while releasing her backpack.
Xiang Yang, regaining her freedom, truly didn't dare to move.
Fu Guanxian circled around to face her, looking down at her from above, “We still have unfinished business!”
Xiang Yang had been arriving at school early recently, rushing to pack her bag and go home as soon as the school bell rang, and she didn't dare to hang out outside even during breaks. Even after lunch in the cafeteria, she didn't dare to linger and went back to the classroom early to do her homework and read, all to avoid Fu Guanxian.
Because she was afraid that Fu Guanxian would see her and settle the score with her.
She knew that her father must have talked to Fu Shu that day, and what she was unsure about was that she had forgotten to write the self-criticism that night. She was too busy explaining to her father and got nervous and forgot.
But she pretended to be crazy and stupid and asked, “Settle, settle what score?”
“Hehe, Xiang Xiaoyang, you have a selective memory!”
Xiang Yang pursed her lips and didn't dare to speak.
“Do you need me to list them out one by one, clearly and explicitly, and tell you?”
Xiang Yang was hesitating whether to answer him “need” or “don't need” when she heard a female teacher call out, “The two students in front, are you the contestants who are going to participate in the competition? The classroom is ahead, just walk straight ahead, the third one.”
Xiang Yang heard the voice, turned her head to look back, and saw the female teacher in a brown long skirt carrying documents walking closer. She couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, feeling incredibly grateful to the teacher. Thank goodness the teacher came to the rescue.
Fu Guanxian glanced down at her, snorted from his nose, and didn't say anything.
Hmph, Xiang Yang, you're lucky!
As the teacher approached, seeing that one of them was Fu Guanxian, whom she had tutored last semester and who had gloriously won first place, she smiled and put her arm around his shoulder, “Isn't this Guanxian? Why are you standing here, you should know where it is since you participated last semester!”
Fu Guanxian smelled the strong perfume on the teacher, and quickly took a step forward without a trace, taking advantage of the moment to shake off the teacher's hand on his shoulder, and reminded her, “Teacher, let's go to the classroom!”
“Okay! Let's go!”
Xiang Yang was left behind, walking while occasionally looking at their figures, thinking about another question: “Did Fu Guanxian win an award last time he participated? Was the essay difficult last time? How difficult was it, what type of essay topic was it?”
Although she had so many things she wanted to know, Xiang Yang never thought of asking him directly.
One teacher, three students.
The top student in the third year was a boy, tall and thin, with dark skin and small eyes, wearing black square-rimmed glasses.
Xiang Yang and the others waited for ten minutes, and he rushed over because their chemistry teacher had kept them in class.
Before the lesson began, the teacher arranged seats for the three of them, in the first row below the podium. The three of them sat in order of their grade level.
Xiang Yang curiously glanced over and realized that Fu Guanxian was sitting next to the top student in the third year, making his skin look very fair. He could be described as a “pretty boy.”
Fu Guanxian didn't turn his head, but he caught a glimpse of her looking at him, and then she seemed to be holding back a smile. He had a gut feeling that she was just laughing at him in her heart. As for what she was laughing at, it definitely wasn't anything good.
The teacher especially liked to make eye contact with the three of them during the lesson.
Xiang Yang listened attentively and focused. When she received the teacher's gaze, hoping that Xiang Yang would pick up on her question, Xiang Yang always felt a sense of impending doom. Because the difficulty level was too high.
So for the whole forty minutes, Xiang Yang sat motionless, listening attentively, her back straight.
Fu Guanxian sat next to her, truly struggling to hold back his laughter the whole time. He didn't remember much of what the teacher said. He only knew that the third-year senior on his left was diligently translating the teacher's words and writing down several pages full of notes.
And on his right, a Xiang Yang who sat straight and proper like a stone sculpture, made him find it even funnier.
Hey, do you have to be so serious!
Finally, when the lesson was over, the teacher assigned a few essay topics and asked them to choose two to practice writing.
As they walked out of the classroom, the third-year senior walked like a gust of wind. The teacher hadn't left yet, Fu Guanxian walked out of the classroom behind Xiang Yang, deliberately mocking her, “So that's how you listen in class!”
Xiang Yang was puzzled, “What do you mean?”
Fu Guanxian walked while raising both hands, exaggeratingly making a gesture for her to see, “Like this! Like this! Xiang Yang, aren't you tired?”
Xiang Yang's face turned red with embarrassment, and she didn't want to talk to him. She wasn't wrong.
Fu Guanxian continued, “Xiang Yang, whoever taught you must be incredibly lucky. You're more well-behaved than a three-year-old in kindergarten! You sat so straight the whole class, aren't you tired?”
Tired?
Actually, she was tired.
After finishing this tutoring session, Xiang Yang felt not only physically tired but also mentally tired.
But she didn't want to admit it.
“If you have nothing else to do, I'm going home.”
Fu Guanxian immediately said, “Who said I have nothing else to do!”
“Huh?”
“Write the two essays for me tonight.”
Xiang Yang was surprised.
She had to write two essays herself that night, plus other homework assigned by the teacher in her class. All of this added up, and she would have enough to write until nine or ten o'clock at night.
If she had to write two more for him...
Xiang Yang was not happy.
She lowered her head and didn't say anything, her face full of grievance.
Fu Guanxian saw this and was secretly happy, but he deliberately put on a stern face and said, “What, do you have an opinion?”
Yes!
But Xiang Yang didn't dare to be so direct. She said tactfully, “I have a lot of homework today.”
“What a coincidence, I have a lot of homework today too.”
Xiang Yang gritted her teeth and asked him back, “Besides making me write homework, what else can you do?”
Fu Guanxian immediately laughed when he heard this and replied, “Xiang Yang, besides making you write homework, I can make you do many other things, do you want to try?”
Xiang Yang's face changed slightly when she heard this, and she didn't dare to answer. She knew that if she dared to retort again, Fu Guanxian's next tricks would definitely leave her with no way out.
Fu Guanxian lowered his head and held her hands tightly, his gaze lingering for a few seconds. He then said, “If I don't see my essay before class tomorrow, you know, I will definitely make you do more things you want to try in the future.”
Xiang Yang lowered her head, tears almost falling. But she held them back and ran away quickly.
How could she be so unlucky, to meet a heartless little tyrant like Fu Guanxian! Her life was a constant struggle, every bit of freedom and happiness she had to carefully cherish, what the heck was this!
Xiang Yang could only blame herself for being incompetent.
The moment Xiang Yang ran away, Fu Guanxian saw for a moment that her eyes were red. He immediately reflected on himself - did he go too far this time? But soon he rejected that thought, he still had many accounts to settle with her!
Xiang Yang was in a bad mood while doing her homework that night. Perhaps due to her emotions, the practice problems took longer than usual.
When Jiang Manxin brought her a glass of milk into her room, she noticed her unusual behavior. “What's wrong? Not happy today?”
Xiang Yang didn't want her to worry, so she said, “Mom, I'm fine, it's just that I have a lot of homework tonight and I feel a little stressed.”
“It's okay, take your time, you'll finish it eventually. If your mood isn't stable, it will have a bigger impact. Don't put too much pressure on yourself, a happy mood will help you enjoy the process.”
“Okay, Mom, I understand.”
That night, Xiang Yang hesitated for a long time between “writing” and “not writing” Fu Guanxian's two essays, but in the end, she still put her brain to work and wrote them for him.
When she finished, it was already eleven o'clock. As a result, she was a little sleepy the next morning when she got up early. She wanted to hand the essays to Fu Guanxian as soon as possible and get it over with.
So when she went out, she secretly brought her phone with her. She had Fu Guanxian's number in her contacts.
It was once when he went to her room, took her phone and played with it for a while, and used her phone to call his own phone, conveniently saving his number for her.
At the time, when he returned the phone to her, he said, “Here, I saved my number for you, don't be too touched, you never know when you might need to call for help and not be able to find anyone!”
Xiang Yang looked at his slender fingers at the time, and finally took the phone from him. She didn't want to thank him for being nosy!
But Xiang Yang didn't dare to delete that number, because she was afraid that he would find out that she had deleted his number, and then she would probably be in trouble.
She stood under a withered tree not far from the school and called Fu Guanxian. After waiting for a while, he finally answered.
“Hello? When will you get to school? I'm waiting for you at the school gate, where you stood last time.”
“What are you waiting for me for?” Fu Guanxian asked.
“Hello! It was clearly you who asked me to write for you last night...”
“Oh, I know, I know! I'm coming now!” Fu Guanxian said, then asked another question, “You're so strange, is it necessary to be so troublesome? The classroom is on the same floor, why don't you just bring it to the classroom?”
“I don't want to go to your classroom.” Xiang Yang stared intently at the water droplets slowly dripping down the dry branches, breathing out, “I don't want to go to your classroom.”
Fu Guanxian sneered, and said bluntly, “I'm telling you, you don't want to go to my classroom, you're just afraid of the students in the school knowing you know me. Xiang Yang, am I, Fu Guanxian, so embarrassing to you?”
