Flash Marriage to a Crazy Rich Husband: I Shocked the World! - Chapter 59

 Chapter 59: Unbelievable!

Finally, Sisi heard the answer she wanted.  “Studying. Sister-in-law, I suddenly remembered something.  I have to go.”

“Oh, take your time.”

“Hmm! See you later!” Sisi kept analyzing Qin Yanci's situation on the way home.

Could it be that he got into trouble trying to help her sell stamps?

She saw him buying books yesterday.  How could she explain it?

Should she tell her in-laws?

She wrestled with it for a long time and decided to keep it a secret.

Qin Yanci had been working on the farm for ten years, and he received a salary every month.  If he used all his savings to buy a place of his own where he could be alone, wouldn't it be obvious if she told them?

She would handle the black market business herself.

She first went to find Aunt Liu, who had told her about the black market. “Auntie, you didn't visit relatives today?”

“I went yesterday.  Why didn't you go?”

“I'm not very familiar with the relatives at my aunt's place.  I didn't know what to say to them, so I just stayed home.  Here, have some of this.”  Sisi took out the chestnut cakes she had bought for Qin Yanci.

Aunt Liu loved taking advantage of people.  Now she was beaming.  “Where did you buy this? Hmm, it tastes so good.  The crust is crispy and fragrant.”

“I bought it from the Four Joys bakery in the city.  You like it? I'll bring you some next time I'm there.”

“That's too much trouble.”

“Don't worry about it.”

Aunt Liu ate the chestnut cakes Sisi gave her and told her the neighborhood gossip.  Finally, she mentioned the black market in East City getting shut down. “I heard it was lively that day.  I wanted to go, too, but I had diarrhea because I ate too much greasy food during the New Year, so I didn't go.  Otherwise, I'd have definitely been criticized.”

Sisi said casually, “Everyone has time off during the New Year.  Those who can't afford to go to the department store, if they don't go to the black market, I don't know what they do at home.”

“Do you think there's only one black market in East City?  We have two in West City. It's just not as lively.”

Sisi perked up her ears.  “Where is it?  I want to go look around.”

“I just heard the location from someone.” Aunt Liu told her the location, “If you go one day, bring me with you.”

Sisi pretended to be angry. “You didn't tell me the specific location, how am I going to find it and bring you there?”

Aunt Liu laughed.  She steered the conversation to Li Yuwei. “How is your sister's situation?  Did your parents agree?”

“Auntie Liu, you know my situation. Do you think they would tell me?”

Aunt Liu felt a little sorry for her. “I don't know what your dad is thinking.  He kept you waiting for so many years, and as soon as he brought you back, he's going to marry you off.  Your sister is like that, but they're willing to let her do whatever she wants.”

Sisi sighed softly.  “Maybe it's fate.”

“Marry into a good family, and you'll be able to change your fate.”

Sisi smiled.  Who knows what will happen in the future?  She had gathered the information she needed, and she said goodbye. “Auntie Liu, you're busy.  I'll go now.”

“Alright.  Come by more often.”

“Okay.”  Sisi was about to leave immediately and go to the black market.

She passed by her house, and Li Junlu stopped her. “Sisi, where are you going?”

“Visiting someone.”

“Don't go.  Come with me to the hospital.” Li Junlu's brows were furrowed.

“The hospital?  You and Yuwei can go together.”

“It's Yuwei who is in the hospital.”

Sisi raised an eyebrow. Li Yuwei is in the hospital?  She pretended to be concerned.  “What happened to her?”

Li Junlu sighed deeply. “Oh, it's all because of Feng Erge.  He doesn't know what he did to offend someone. I heard he was tied up in the woods near Qianjia Gou.  He was so scared, he got sick.  When he was sent home, we were just heading back.  As soon as he saw your sister, he started yelling and shouting.  He said he wanted to break up with your sister.

The police officer suspects that we did it.  Luckily, we were visiting relatives today, so we have an alibi. We haven't been hanging out with shady people either. Otherwise, we'd be in the interrogation room right now.”

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 01

Chapter 01: Time Travel Needs Ritual They say that if you set the air conditioner to 16 degrees Celsius, light a candle, put an alarm clock in front of the candle, then sleep under a warm air conditioner blanket, and chant "Heaven and Earth are boundless, the cosmos is turned upside down," you can time travel?   Chen Fan came out of the bathroom after a drunken shower, remembering what his colleague, who was known for his mysterious ways and constantly mentioning the I Ching and esoteric arts (and nicknamed "Daoist"), had said during a drinking session.   Thinking about how he had been in an orphanage since he was 10 years old, and how he had only managed to get through college thanks to part-time jobs and his parents' inheritance, and how he had been working for years but still just a struggling wage earner renting a place in a suburban village, without any family support, it seemed like time traveling wouldn't be too bad. It wouldn't be worse than his...

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 17

Chapter 17: Catching a Big One     After sitting in the room and being exposed to the smoke for a while, Chen Fan listened to Captain Yang and the others discuss next year's work arrangements. He could understand the literal meaning, but he didn't understand why they were making these arrangements.   These three were all veterans, they could communicate clearly with just a few words. They naturally wouldn't explain things.   After listening to their confusing conversation, he couldn't sit still anymore.   He stood up and said, "Captain, Accountant, Keeper, Auntie Yang, you guys continue chatting, I'm going now."   Captain Yang looked up at him, "Stay a little longer. You don't have anything to do when you go back. Just stay here and warm yourself by the fire."   Speaking of the fire, he seemed to remember something, "Is it too cold in your room? I'll get you a brazier."   Chen Fan quickly stopped him, "No, no, it's ...

The Little Childhood Sweetheart's Counterattack - Chapter 1

Chapter 01: The Tyrant's Gaze   Their teacher was a middle-aged man with a large belly. His last name was Wu, he wasn't tall and didn't talk much. Since it was the first PE class of the semester, after briefly introducing himself and summarizing the course content for all the new students, he taught them a few basic warm-up exercises, then had them run a few laps around the field. He was merciful and dismissed the class, allowing everyone to do whatever they wanted.   The boys in the class cheered when they heard they could have free time. They called out to each other and ran towards the basketball court.   As Xiang Yang and a few girls left the field, she heard one of them, a girl with long hair, say, “Oh no! It's actually him who’s our PE teacher!”   Since it was only a few days since the start of school, Xiang Yang only remembered a handful of classmates' names. Although on the first day of school, during the first class, the head teacher, based on academic perf...
