Rebirth: To Make You Mine - Chapter 07

Chapter 07: He Held Her

The early morning of late October carried a slight chill, but thankfully, the sunlight was still as brilliant as ever.

Amidst the twinkling lights, Fu Jinting stood there with his head held high, his elegance carrying an air of inviolable sacred handsomeness.

Kong Yiyue stared at him blankly, momentarily forgetting her strange posture and forgetting to put down her right hand which was supporting her waist.

Her eyes held a soft light as she gazed at him. The curve of her lips softened slightly in the sunlight. She thought: No wonder I want to pursue Fu Jinting. Even if I set aside his family background, I would probably still like him as my future husband.

Well, because he's easy on the eyes!

In her previous life, because of her self-deprecation, she never had such an outrageous idea. But this life was different!

Just as Kong Yiyue was about to walk towards him, she wasn't paying attention to her feet and took a hasty step, pulling at her waist, making her gasp in pain.

Hiss!”

Fu Jinting was wearing black pants, and his jacket was ombre, white on the upper part, gradually fading into light green at the bottom.

He had just entered the school gate feeling refreshed, but he hadn't expected to encounter Kong Yiyue first thing. These past few days, their encounters had been frequent, both on and off campus.

Fu Jinting merely glanced at her and then pretended she was a stranger.

He didn't believe that all these encounters were pure coincidence. He suspected that the culprit was this girl in front of him.

Fu Jinting scorned her in his heart. Just as he was about to bypass her and walk straight ahead, he subconsciously heard her gasp.

He didn't want to be involved with her, but he still couldn't help but cast his gaze on her.

Then his expression darkened.

Because it was almost class time, the school corridor was deserted and extremely peaceful.

Fu Jinting saw that her face didn't look as rosy as yesterday. Her brows were deeply furrowed, one hand supporting her waist, the other hanging limply, her white teeth biting her lower lip. She looked quite uncomfortable.

Fu Jinting suspected that he was seeing things, or else, why did he think that the thing glistening in the sunlight on her forehead was sweat?

It wasn't the hot summer, and it was early in the morning, so sweating wasn't normal.

Fu Jinting knew she was uncomfortable, but he didn't want to meddle. He coldly withdrew his gaze. He had taken two steps when he heard a “thud.”

Instantly turning around, he saw Kong Yiyue had fallen to the ground.

Fu Jinting let out a “Damn!”, and hurriedly ran over to help her up.

“Kong Yiyue!” As Fu Jinting helped her up by her frail shoulders, he heard her softly murmur a word, “It hurts.”

Fu Jinting was just about to ask, “Where does it hurt?” but he forcibly swallowed the words. What was he doing, acting so nervous?

Fu Jinting pushed Kong Yiyue, his tone a few degrees colder, “Get up, Kong Yiyue!”

Kong Yiyue just closed her eyes tightly, her long eyelashes trembling slightly.

Fu Jinting looked unabashedly at her pale face. Her forehead was really covered in sweat.

What's wrong with her?

Fu Jinting reached out and touched her forehead. It was slightly warm.

Looking around, he saw a PE teacher running towards them from a distance and called out to him, “Drive, take her to the hospital!”

The teacher didn't say a word, just took out his car keys. The three of them rushed to the hospital. After entering the emergency room, Fu Jinting finally breathed a sigh of relief.

The teacher told Fu Jinting to return to school for class, and Fu Jinting thought that he didn't really need to stay there. When he turned around, he saw his jacket, which had wrinkles from carrying her, his face darkened slightly.

He took off his jacket. Underneath was a white shirt. When he stepped out of the hospital, he casually threw the jacket into a trash can.

Fu Jinting's morning mood had been somewhat agitated by Kong Yiyue's sudden incident.

He had always hated physical contact with the opposite sex, yet, he had been so anxious about Kong Yiyue's fainting that he had forgotten about his years of cleanliness.

Fu Jinting pursed his lips.

When he returned to school, it was just break time.

The moment Fu Jinting entered the classroom, he received the attention of many classmates. They thought he had been absent from school because of illness, but when the homeroom teacher came to class, the first thing she mentioned was that he had sent a fainting girl to the hospital in the morning.

The matter had already spread among the teachers' offices. After all, a student fainting could be serious or not. The PE teacher had reported the situation to the principal in detail on the way to the hospital.

Within minutes, the teachers' office was full of discussions about Fu Jinting being a righteous and helpful excellent student.

Later, when the homeroom teacher casually mentioned, “I wonder how Class 5's Kong Yiyue is doing?” The informed students were all shocked—so the truth was that Fu Jinting had sent the fainted Kong Yiyue to the hospital? —Wow!

Everyone looked at each other, their eyes shining with gossip.

When Fu Jinting returned, Xiang Yi looked at him with some worry, “I think things will be very hard to settle down.”

Fu Jinting looked back at him, silent for a long time, before saying, “I know.”

Seeing his dark expression, Xiang Yi knew he was clearly unhappy, and though he didn't know exactly what had happened on the way to and from the hospital, he wisely chose not to ask.

If he got too curious, wouldn't he be walking straight into the fire?

He didn't want to be that stupid.

Xiang Yi wasn't stupid, but Zhong Ziyang wasn't necessarily as clever.

Zhong Ziyang had just been called to the office by the math teacher to be criticized for his careless homework. He was half-heartedly listening, but his ears were perked up, listening to the teachers gossiping about how Fu Jinting, upon discovering the fainted Kong Yiyue, remained expressionless and said “Take her to the hospital.”

Zhong Ziyang was just hearing the key part when he was kicked out by the math teacher, “Zhong Ziyang, your careless attitude. You'll be crying during the next exam!”

The math teacher was a young male teacher in his twenties. Zhong Ziyang was on the verge of calling him “bro,” so he acted coquettishly, “Teacher, I'm wrong. I'll definitely get tenth place next time!”

Why not first place? Wasn't it because Fu Jinting was back?

So when Zhong Ziyang saw Fu Jinting in person, the first excited thing he said was, “Where's Kong Yiyue?”

Fu Jinting didn't even look at him.

Zhong Ziyang unceremoniously sat down in the empty chair in front of him, “I heard you sent her to the hospital? Fu Jinting, I really didn't know you were so kind!”

Fu Jinting casually picked up a book and put it on the table. He seemed to say it casually, “Zhong Ziyang, let's have a one-on-one basketball match this afternoon.”

“Okay!” Zhong Ziyang readily accepted the challenge.

Only after school did he realize how badly he was beaten! Damn him!

Zhong Ziyang was finally exhausted and unable to move on the court. He panted and asked Xiang Yi, who was watching the show from the side, “When did I offend him?”

Xiang Yi smiled without answering.

Well, even if I know, I'm not going to tell you.

Kong Yiyue woke up slowly after being taken to the emergency room and making sure Fu Jinting was no longer around.

The nurse who was about to take her temperature was startled, muttering, “Didn't she seem very serious just now? Why is she awake?”

Kong Yiyue didn't care. She simply explained her situation to her, “I fell off the bed this morning, my back hurts, my left arm is bruised, my right shoulder also hurts a little, and I have a slight fever.”

Hearing this, the nurse looked at her and questioned, “How come you're so clear about this?”

Kong Yiyue just smiled and passed it off.

She inwardly scoffed: It already wasn't good to begin with, and this fall made it even worse!

She had intentionally fainted just now, and even deliberately fell sideways, thinking that she couldn't fall on her back, and she didn't dare to use her left hand, so she might as well fall on her right side.

As a result, she hurt her right shoulder too.

Kong Yiyue was a little dissatisfied with the floor tiles in the school corridor. They were so hard and they bruised her!

However, although she couldn't see Fu Jinting's expression, it was a little regrettable, but the overall feeling was still worth it. After all, he was the one who had carried her princess-style to the car, and even when getting out of the car, he hadn't handed her over to the PE teacher.

Kong Yiyue weighed it and still felt that the pain was worthwhile.

After the X-rays and the examination were over, Kong Yiyue thanked the PE teacher several times, “Thank you, teacher!”

The PE teacher always loved polite students. Seeing Kong Yiyue like this, he smiled and said you're welcome, and after sending Kong Yiyue back to school, he only told her to rest well and to tell her homeroom teacher if anything happened, or to take a leave of absence and go home to rest.

Kong Yiyue didn't explain that her home was far away. She simply obediently replied, “Okay.”

Back in the dorm, after taking off her clothes, she struggled to look at herself in a ten-centimeter radius mirror. She was quite worried.

There was a large bruise on her lower back. The doctor said it wasn't a big problem. She just needed to apply some medicine to help with the bruising, and it would be fine in a few days. As for her elbow and shoulder, she just needed to apply medicine.

Kong Yiyue frowned at the ugly bruises, put her clothes back on, then poured some water, took her fever medicine, and went back to bed.

She didn't feel like going to class. After texting her homeroom teacher to ask for a leave of absence, she closed her eyes and rested. Well, conserving energy was the best approach!

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 01

Chapter 01: Time Travel Needs Ritual They say that if you set the air conditioner to 16 degrees Celsius, light a candle, put an alarm clock in front of the candle, then sleep under a warm air conditioner blanket, and chant "Heaven and Earth are boundless, the cosmos is turned upside down," you can time travel?   Chen Fan came out of the bathroom after a drunken shower, remembering what his colleague, who was known for his mysterious ways and constantly mentioning the I Ching and esoteric arts (and nicknamed "Daoist"), had said during a drinking session.   Thinking about how he had been in an orphanage since he was 10 years old, and how he had only managed to get through college thanks to part-time jobs and his parents' inheritance, and how he had been working for years but still just a struggling wage earner renting a place in a suburban village, without any family support, it seemed like time traveling wouldn't be too bad. It wouldn't be worse than his...

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 13

Chapter 13: You Have a New Order Of course, Chen Fan wouldn't argue with Keeper Huang. He thanked him profusely. He had brought a big bag of sweet potatoes, free of charge, how could he not express his gratitude? After seeing Keeper Huang off, he really didn't dare close the door again, so he just left the door slightly ajar, at least that would provide some cover. He went back into the room. He didn't even touch the tea he poured for Captain Yang. He picked it up and felt it. The temperature was just right, so he took a big gulp. It tasted pretty good, what kind of tea is this? He stood up and lifted the lid of the teapot. He saw two large leaves floating inside, about the size of a baby's palm. It turned out to be “ one-horse tea ”. “One-horse tea” refers to a type of tea where a single leaf can be used to make a pot of tea. Some places also call it “ three-horse tea ”. These leaves are not actually tea leaves, but they are harvested from fresh “ HuBei Hawthorn ” lea...

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 15

Chapter 15: Acquiring a New Skill   Back in his room, Chen Fan continued reading, but after a while, he couldn't focus. His mind was filled with what Jiang Lili had just said.   The chickens were eaten, and they don't raise pigs.   Everyone else went home for the New Year, and they didn't leave anything good for that girl?   That's too much!   After a while, Chen Fan couldn't sit still, so he put down the book, got up and walked out.   He went to Jiang Lili's door and greeted her, "Hey, Xiao Jiang."   Jiang Lili immediately came over, "What is it?"   She paused, a strange look flashed in her eyes. She whispered, "Chen... Chen Fan, I want to ask you something."   Chen Fan was about to speak, but when he heard her say this, he smiled, "Ask away."   Jiang Lili curiously looked at him, "How old are you this year?"   Chen Fan blinked, guessing what she meant, and said, "Eighteen."   Sixteen, almost sevente...
