Rebirth: To Make You Mine - Chapter 06

Chapter 06: A Strange Dislike

The moment Kong Yiyue approached him, Fu Jinting's immediate impulse was to push her away. Unexpectedly, she was too quick. Before he knew it, her hands were firmly on his arm.

Fu Jinting stared at her hands tightly gripping him, his face darkened as he ordered, “Take your hands off me!”

Kong Yiyue pretended not to hear him. The smile on her face didn't diminish at all, but she subtly loosened her grip, smiling and asking him, “Are you guys going to eat? I haven't eaten yet.”

Fu Jinting turned around and moved to the side, putting some distance between them. His eyes were filled with hostility as he looked at Fu Qing Rui, “Get in the car!”

Fu Qing Rui withdrew his gaze, shaking his head to dispel the unrealistic thoughts in his mind. How could Fu Jinting and Kong Yiyue be a good match? Didn't he see the deep disgust in Fu Jinting's eyes when he looked at Kong Yiyue?

Man, he had never seen Fu Jinting show his emotions so openly! What exactly had Kong Yiyue done to make him so angry?

Fu Qing Rui suddenly became very curious about the answer. As he walked towards where they were standing, he teased Kong Yiyue, “It's rare for my brother to hate someone so much!”

Kong Yiyue didn't even look at the irritating smile on his lips. She just replied, “My honor.”

Fu Jinting's gaze sharply shot towards Kong Yiyue. Truly...shameless!

Kong Yiyue looked back frankly, “Fu Jinting, I haven't done anything.  Why are you looking at me like that? I feel wronged.”

This joke was...so fake that he didn't want to respond!

Fu Jinting didn't even look at her. He went straight to the driver's seat, ignoring Fu Qing Rui, who was lazily watching the show from the side. He just said, “You made me wait for three minutes, so you can decide whether to take a taxi or walk later!”  He turned the steering wheel, nearly hitting Kong Yiyue, who hadn't moved, as the car swung around.

Fu Qing Rui wisely retreated as Fu Jinting started the car.  Seeing Fu Jinting's disregard for Kong Yiyue's safety as he turned the car, and Kong Yiyue's apparent unconcern, startled Fu Qing Rui. Instinctively, he pulled Kong Yiyue out of the way.

Kong Yiyue stumbled back a few steps as the white BMW sped away.

As the car's silhouette gradually shrank, Kong Yiyue seemed to sigh, “It's such a pity, I was hoping we could have a meal together.”

Fu Qing Rui was beside her, his face turning pale. (#‵′)  Ugh! This woman has no sense of danger!!!

And! Why had he been so kind just now!

Fu Qing Rui left in a huff!

Out of sight, out of mind!

Kong Yiyue sensed the movement of air beside her and turned to see him leaving.  "Fu Qing Rui!" she called to his tall figure, “Let's have a meal together.  Consider it a meeting gift from your sister-in-law.”

Sister-in-law? Fu Qing Rui exploded, gritting his teeth.  He spat, “Scram!”

Kong Yiyue smiled faintly. “Fine,” she said, “Don't bother. There will be plenty of opportunities in the future.”  She didn't press the issue and walked away.

As she walked, she considered her next steps: eat, then return to school to study.

In her previous life, she didn't know much about Fu Qing Rui.  It wasn't until he transferred to Qinglin High School later on and occasionally went to see Fu Jinting that she knew he was Fu Jinting's younger brother.

Later, after Kong Yiyue graduated from high school, she lost contact with Fu Jinting, and she had no reason to pay attention to Fu Qing Rui.

It wasn't until a few years later, when she saw him in a TV drama on the screen, that she realized he had entered the entertainment industry.

The entertainment industry?

Kong Yiyue was sure: in the future, they would be in the same industry, so there would be plenty of opportunities to interact and meet.

As for Fu Jinting, Kong Yiyue felt that making him dislike her was a kind of success.

So, things had developed as she expected.

Kong Yiyue enjoyed a pleasant meal, returned to school, spent the afternoon in the library, and returned to her dorm at nightfall.

Yang Tian had made an appointment with a few girls in her class to go shopping in the evening and politely asked Kong Yiyue if she wanted to come along.

Kong Yiyue politely refused, saying that she still had a lot of homework to do.

Yang Tian had simply asked out of politeness. Seeing that she refused, she didn't say anything more. After saying goodbye, she happily went out with the girls from the neighboring dorm.

In the quiet dorm room, bathed in bright light, Kong Yiyue opened a notebook with a password lock. She held a pen in one hand and stroked her chin with the other, concentrating intently on recalling the past.

She would occasionally write down a few keywords and things she needed to pay attention to this time around.

On Monday, she would probably meet the transfer student, Lin An Yi.

She needed to devise a plan to estrange herself from Lin An Yi. In this life, she absolutely could not be involved with him!

Besides Lin An Yi, Kong Yiyue quickly listed several words: “Family, Dad, Fu, Studies, Money.”

Kong Yiyue reviewed recent events at home. Nothing significant seemed to have happened. However, she knew that periods of calm could precede sudden, devastating crises.

When had her father died in her previous life? Not long after the start of her senior year.

Kong Jian's death left Kong Yiyue and her mother with a substantial debt. Her mother, with no other choice, sold their land to barely cover it, then settled in Qinglin City with Kong Yiyue.

Kong Yiyue was still in high school at the time. Their lives were incredibly difficult. Her mother, Ping Lan, gritted her teeth, working during the day and doing part-time jobs at night, barely supporting Kong Yiyue's university education.

Later, with some savings, Ping Lan opened a clothing store. Business was good, and their lives gradually improved.

After graduating from university, although Kong Yiyue's salary wasn't high, they were no longer struggling.

Kong Yiyue felt that since she had been reborn, could she try to change the situation of her family?

Kong Yiyue lingered on the word “Dad” for a long time, with worry etched between her brows. Kong Jian's gambling addiction made persuading him to quit seem unrealistic.

Kong Yiyue thought about solutions, but she couldn't think of any.

Her gaze slid to the word “Fu.” For the past two years of high school, it is simply to get Fu Jinting to remember her, so the deeper the impression, the easier it would be to pursue him when he'll return to China.

The remaining concerns were personal.

Kong Yiyue had already decided to major in performing arts at university. It was purely a stepping stone to the entertainment industry, but she needed further preparation. She needed at least one special skill to stand out during university.

The first thing Kong Yiyue wanted to learn was a musical instrument.

She had checked the fees for piano training classes and found them stressful given her current financial situation. So, earning money was paramount?

Kong Yiyue closed her notebook and lay on her bed, pondering ways on how to earn money to improve her situation.

The only quick and effective method she could think of was—investment.

But what to invest in? And who to cooperate with?

Kong Yiyue reviewed her social circle. After graduating from university in her previous life, she had worked diligently as a teacher. The people she knew were primarily in education. There were almost none who had significant capital or had a long-term investment vision.

Kong Yiyue resigned herself to abandoning the idea of “money making money.” It was too unrealistic.

She could only rely on her previous work—tutoring—the most reliable and safest part-time job.

Having decided, Kong Yiyue browsed the Qinglin City part-time job website on Sunday and chose two private tutoring agencies near the school. She visited the first one Sunday afternoon to talk with organizer.

The organizer of that tutoring agency usually sought university students, but they were currently understaffed. Kong Yiyue was very confident in her abilities, and the organizer gave her several test papers of different levels and asked her to answer them on the spot.

The final result was quite surprising.

The organizer was a middle-aged female teacher. Looking at the near-perfect scores on the test papers, she questioned, “Are you really a high school student?” Some questions were so difficult that even their university students who worked part-time here couldn't answer them.

Kong Yiyue smiled and replied, “Yes, I'm self-taught.”

They happily signed a contract.

Kong Yiyue only needed to work a day and a half on weekends, resting Sunday afternoon. Her monthly salary was twice her expectation.

She later learned that most students were wealthy city kids, hence the high fees and salaries.

Kong Yiyue accepted it without guilt.

────────────────────────

On Monday morning, Kong Yiyue woke up and was about to get out of bed, but she was a little groggy, and she fell directly off the bed.

The Qinglin City student dormitories used bunk beds with desks underneath. As she fell, her mind cleared. Her heart pounded, her hands flailed, catching only the soft blanket.

Kong Yiyue collapsed on the floor, her back hitting the ground hard. The pain made her bite her lower lip tightly.

Because of the inertia of her left elbow hitting the ground, her elbow joint was numb and aching.

Kong Yiyue was in so much pain that tears welled up in her eyes. Her face was pale. She wanted to call Yuan Meng for help, but she couldn't utter a word.

Yang Tian and Yuan Meng were brushing their teeth, and another girl was half-asleep. Hearing the noise, they were startled. When they turned their heads, Kong Yiyue was already on the floor. A light blue blanket was clutched in her hand, spread beside her.

Yuan Meng quickly spat out the foam in her mouth, “Yiyue, what's wrong with you?”

Yang Tian instantly reacted, “How did you fall off the bed?” She didn't even have time to put down the towel she was using to wipe her face. She ran over with Yuan Meng and helped Kong Yiyue up.

Kong Yiyue pressed her right hand to her waist, took a few deep breaths, and barely managed to say, “I accidentally rolled off.”

Seeing her pale face, Yuan Meng said with concern, “Should we go to the hospital?”

Kong Yiyue felt it wasn't that serious, but seeing the concern in their eyes, she compromised, “I'll go myself later. You guys should get ready so we can go to the cafeteria for breakfast.”

Hearing this, Yuan Meng asked, “What about you? Aren't you going to eat?”

“I'll just buy something on the way to the hospital later. I'll sit here for a while, you don't have to worry about me.”

Seeing that they were running out of time, Yang Tian said, “Be careful then.”

Yuan Meng also said, “Yes, I'll tell the homeroom teacher that you're going to be absent.”

Kong Yiyue said “Thank you” gratefully. After the three left, she reluctantly washed up, then stiffly put on her jacket, took her phone and wallet, and left the dorm.

Kong Yiyue was still supporting her waist with her right hand. She had looked at her left elbow just now, and there was a large bruise. Thankfully, it wasn't a fracture.

Her face was pale, and because of her inner gloom, she looked haggard at first glance.

Kong Yiyue didn't care about what others thought. She just recalled the strange incident just now.

When she woke up, she saw the schedule that read “Lin An Yi.” She was startled. The images that rolled through her mind were those of her life with Lin An Yi after they got married, and the final scene—him and a soft body entangled in the most extreme intimacy.

Kong Yiyue was ashamed and furious. She tried to get up, but she didn't know how, but she tripped and fell directly to the ground. Even why she fell out of bed, Kong Yiyue couldn't figure it out for a long time, and finally attributed it to Lin An Yi.

If she hadn't known she was going to see him today, she probably wouldn't have been forced to recall those unpleasant memories.

Hmph, going to the hospital is good, at least she wouldn't have to see that disgusting face.

After leaving the dorm building, Kong Yiyue was lost in thought until she reached the school gate, when she suddenly saw Fu Jinting walking towards her. She froze on the spot.

Kong Yiyue: (Dramatically collapsing) “Oh, my aching back!”

Fu Jinting: (Scowling) “Seriously? Again?”

PE Teacher: (Rushing over) “Is this a new yoga pose?”

Kong Yiyue: (Muttering) “Worth it for the princess carry.”

Fu Jinting: (Throwing away his wrinkled jacket) “Cleanliness is next to...not this!”

Flash Marriage to a Crazy Rich Husband: I Shocked the World! - Chapter 79

Chapter 79: Understanding     The two of them ran home, hung the fish on the back window to freeze, and rushed to the movie theater.   They sat down for less than a minute before the movie started.   As soon as the actors appeared, Sisi knew the plot.   It was “The White Haired Girl.”  They had played it in her village.   People from ten miles around gathered in the threshing ground to watch.   There were people on the haystacks and on the tree branches.   It was so lively.   The city was much quieter.  There were forty or fifty people in a projection room, sitting quietly and orderly.   Sisi looked around, and her eyes met Li Yuwei's who was sitting in front of her.   Li Yuwei was next to Feng Shuangxi.   Li Yuwei was stunned for a moment.  She exclaimed, “Why are you here?”  Did Qin Yanci bring you here?   Sisi said, “If you can be here, why can't I?”   Feng Shuangxi had an instinctive reac...
