Flash Marriage to a Crazy Rich Husband: I Shocked the World! - Chapter 118

 Chapter 118: Letting Go

“Hmm.” Ying Sisi finished the fruit, flipped through the pages of a book for a few minutes, and her thoughts unconsciously drifted away. She started to think about selling the river mussels tomorrow.

She don't know when she fell asleep.

When she woke up, it was already the next day, and she was in the master bedroom.  She was the only one in the room.

Qin Yanci's note was still in the same place.

She put the note away and washed the clothes she had changed out of yesterday.  She hung them on the balcony and then went out, dressed warmly.

She went back to the river by the forest.

She didn't rush to collect mussels.  Instead, she wandered around.

See if there are any wild treasures, like ginseng, ganoderma lucidum, etc.

I walked around for a while, but I didn't find any ginseng or ganoderma lucidum.

But she did find a peach tree.

It was covered in fruit.

Big and red.

She went over and picked one.  She took a bite.

It was sweet and juicy.

Peaches in the middle of winter, they must sell well.

I'm going to make a fortune.

She changed from using the bucket to collect mussels to using it to collect peaches.

She filled the bucket and went back.

When she got back to the family housing complex, she picked out the largest ones and kept them to eat with Qin Yanci.

The medium-sized ones would be sent to her in-laws.

The rest, she will take to Old Zhao's.

Old Zhao looked at the half-bucket of evenly sized, bright red peaches. He was incredulous.  “Where did you get these?”

“How much per pound? These peaches are sweet and juicy.  They're not cheap.”

“I have to try them first, right?” Old Zhao regained his composure.

Ying Sisi said, “Try them.”

Old Zhao picked up a peach and held it up to his nose.  The rich aroma of sweetness lingered.  It made his mouth water.  He asked someone to wash it and cut it open. The peach flesh was white with a hint of pink. He took a bite.  It was crisp and sweet.  Let it sit for a couple of days, and it'll definitely become soft and juicy.  “Well, not bad.  Three yuan a pound. What do you think?”

Ying Sisi was excited. Three yuan?  There are at least six or seven pounds here. “Okay.”

Old Zhao personally weighed them.  “Seven pounds and five ounces. That's twenty-two yuan and fifty cents.”

“Okay.”  Sisi took the money and put it in her pocket.  She asked curiously, “I want to ask, how much does it cost to buy them, and how much do you sell them for? Can you sell them?”

“Double or triple the price, right?  Can we sell them?  Don't we sell fish?  When people come to eat here, a meal generally costs two or three hundred.  No matter how expensive something is, there will always be someone who will pay.  You can't imagine how many rich people there are in Beijing.  Do you know Yuquan Lou?  It's even more upscale than here.  Don't even think about selling things there.  They won't take them.”

Old Zhao realized he had slipped up. He quickly changed the subject.  “People like us can't get into that kind of restaurant.  Don't even think about getting in your whole life.”

Ying Sisi's eyes widened.  So, the gap between people is determined from childhood.  She sighed.  “Where do those people get their money?”

Old Zhao said, “I want to know too.”

Ying Sisi: "."

Ying Sisi put the money in her pocket and carried the empty bucket back home.

She was thinking about Yuquan Lou, and she deliberately walked past its entrance.

The imposing facade, the uniformed greeters, everything exuded sophistication.

She looked around for the back door, but couldn't find it.

But she did see her father-in-law at the front entrance.

She was scared and hid.  She secretly watched him.  He was slightly bent over, very polite, and talking to a middle-aged man who wasn't very impressive.  Compared to his confidence and composure at home, he was cautious and on eggshells.  In her eyes, he looked like a lackey translator standing next to a villain in a war movie.

She heard from Li Junlu that her father-in-law is the deputy director of the eastern part of the city.

The person my father-in-law is trying to curry favor with, is he the real boss?

Or someone even more powerful?
I can't imagine it.

But she realized one truth. To become a top-tier person, the first thing you have to learn is to let go of your pride.

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 01

Chapter 01: Time Travel Needs Ritual They say that if you set the air conditioner to 16 degrees Celsius, light a candle, put an alarm clock in front of the candle, then sleep under a warm air conditioner blanket, and chant "Heaven and Earth are boundless, the cosmos is turned upside down," you can time travel?   Chen Fan came out of the bathroom after a drunken shower, remembering what his colleague, who was known for his mysterious ways and constantly mentioning the I Ching and esoteric arts (and nicknamed "Daoist"), had said during a drinking session.   Thinking about how he had been in an orphanage since he was 10 years old, and how he had only managed to get through college thanks to part-time jobs and his parents' inheritance, and how he had been working for years but still just a struggling wage earner renting a place in a suburban village, without any family support, it seemed like time traveling wouldn't be too bad. It wouldn't be worse than his...

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 04

Chapter 04: In 1977, Do Not Disturb   The girl soon walked over, placed the earthenware bowl filled with the strong scent of Chinese medicine on the table, and said softly, with her head down, "This is your medicine."   Chen Fan looked at her, then at the medicine, and he had a strange feeling of déjà vu, like "Da Lang, drink your medicine."   Seeing that Chen Fan didn't move, the girl explained softly, "This was prescribed for you by Doctor Zhang from the brigade. He said you have a cold in your body and must take medicine. You had a high fever last night, and you only got better after taking this medicine."   Chen Fan realized what she meant and responded, "Oh, thank you."   He picked up the bowl and took a sip. The temperature was just right. It was clearly cooled in the kitchen before being brought over. She was a thoughtful person.   He then closed his eyes and gulped it down in one go.   After he finished drinking, his facial expressi...

Transmigration in 1977 - Chapter 13

Chapter 13: You Have a New Order Of course, Chen Fan wouldn't argue with Keeper Huang. He thanked him profusely. He had brought a big bag of sweet potatoes, free of charge, how could he not express his gratitude? After seeing Keeper Huang off, he really didn't dare close the door again, so he just left the door slightly ajar, at least that would provide some cover. He went back into the room. He didn't even touch the tea he poured for Captain Yang. He picked it up and felt it. The temperature was just right, so he took a big gulp. It tasted pretty good, what kind of tea is this? He stood up and lifted the lid of the teapot. He saw two large leaves floating inside, about the size of a baby's palm. It turned out to be “ one-horse tea ”. “One-horse tea” refers to a type of tea where a single leaf can be used to make a pot of tea. Some places also call it “ three-horse tea ”. These leaves are not actually tea leaves, but they are harvested from fresh “ HuBei Hawthorn ” lea...
